Francesca Schiavone ha dominato contro la Kerber staccando il biglietto per il terzo turno degli Australian Open. “E’ andate bene - racconta - ho iniziato il match con fiducia e non lo ho concesso chance. Nel secondo set la mia avversaria ha giocato meglio ma sono riuscita comunque a chiudere in fretta”. Ora viene il difficile: c’è la numero uno del mondo Justine Henin e vincitrice di sette titoli dello Slam. I precedenti dicono 6-0 per la belga: “Vero ci ho sempre perso - dice Francesca - ma a Sydney nel 2006 ho vinto un set e spesso ho avuto in altre occasioni dei set point, ad esempio a Dubai e Montreal. Questo per me è molto importante”. Alla stampa belga che le chiede della Henin, che qui a Melbourne ha vinto nel 2004, dice: “Justine sta scrivendo la storia del tennis. Non so che posta occupa in questo momento tra le più grandi si sempre ma è sicuramente superiore alle Williams, i risultati degli ultimi anni lo dimostrano. Forse ora solo Serena in un certo contesto può batterla”. Poi sorride e aggiunge: “E io…”. Due anni fa sempre agli Australian Open fu protagonista di un grande match al quarto turno con la Clijsters. Io la partita volevo vincerla, altrochè.Le possibilità c'erano state in passato e sapevo che potevano esserci ancora.Il fatto è che devi prendertele,bisogna essere più convinti in certe occasioni del match.La differenza Justine l'ha fatta spingendo in certi momenti,io la partita l'ho persa per un motivo ben preciso e su questo devo lavorare.La Henin non mi sembra però così distante.

Francesca Schiavone (nella foto) commenta il successo su Flavia Pennetta al terzo turno di Indian Wells: la tennista milanese si è aggiudicata il derby azzurro con il punteggio di 63 64. “Nel primo set - racconta Francesca - le sono andata avanti di un break ed ho saputo tenere bene il mio servizio fino alla conclusione. Nel secondo Flavia è salita sul 3-0 perché ho abbassato il livello di attenzione ed il vento non perdonava. Poi ho ripreso bene ed ho vinto con ordine”.
Negli ottavi l’attende la vincitrice della sfida tra un’altra italiana, Tathiana Garbin, e la serba Ana Ivanovic, testa di serie numero uno, finalista agli Australian Open e numero due del ranking Wta. “Se sarà un derby tutto italiano molto meglio - conclude Francesca - altrimenti affronterò la Ivanovic che sta giocando molto bene, per lei parlano i risultati. Cercherò di giocare al meglio usando le mie armi”.

first of all Alize is great in making breaks between games long, she got only one warning for this :o :)

Fran was moving well, didn't serve that good and didn't take advantage from weak second serve of Alize

some of her ideas were just not good, especially when she was playing drop-shots :help:
