Das Juniorenturnier in Roland-Garros ging für Nicole unglücklich zu Ende. Das Zweitrundenspiel musste Nicole nach gutem (schmerzhaftem) erstem Satz aufgeben. Eine Entzündung an der rechten Achillessehne behinderte Nicole derart, dass ein weiterspielen, trotz physio-therapeutischen Behandlung, nicht mehr möglich war. Im Grossen und Ganzen konnte Nicole mit der gemachten Erfahrung am mega Event von Paris trotzdem zufrieden sein, hat sie doch mit der Qualifikation drei Runden siegreich überstanden, bevor sie in der vierten Begegnung aufgeben musste

Nicole won her 1st round match 6-3 6-3 against an australian qaulifyier
she also moved to r2 in doubles with some japanese girl (seeded 3rd) - they won 6-3 6-0
the top favorites in doubles who include jessica moore gave a walkover in r2, so nicole's chance for reaching the doubles final isn't too bad:)

Nicole won her quarter final and will now meet no.2 seed Anastasia Rodionova, a former top 50 player for a place in the final. All the best, even though the chance is not too good, just try your best.

Moreover, she won the doubles with Arai. It's her biggest title up to date!!

Nicole played horrible singles in "Les Contamines" but she showed some good doubles performances that eventually took her 2 the final, I hope she can win it :D (she's playing with Laurendron)

Bei den Damen feiert Fed Cup-Spielerin Nicole Riner ein gelungenes Comeback. In ihrem ersten Einzelmatch nach über einem Jahr Verletzungspause setzte sich die Innerschweizerin klar mit 6:0 6:2 gegen Eva-Maria Sjölund durch. Mit ihrem Sieg im Doppel zusammen mit Sarah Moundir steuerte sie die Hälfte der Punkte zum 4:3-Sieg von Lido Luzern gegen den Basler LTC bei. An der Tabellenspitze ist weiterhin das Spitzenduo Nyon und Locarno. Die Tessiner gewannen auch ihr drittes Spiel, diesmal gegen Geneva Country Club mit 5:2. Nyon siegte gegen die Grasshoppers ebenfalls mit 5:2. Bereits in der vierten Runde muss somit eine Vorentscheidung auf den Gruppensieg fallen, denn Nyon empfängt Locarno zum Spitzenkampf.

With these results, I consider Nicole's career over.

She was really unlucky in her career. She went to Germany to perfect her game. There they made her change her serve's move what injured a nerve in her shoulder and or in her elbow. She tried to come back after a few therapies but it didn't really get better. She then decided to put her career on hold and go back to study. Let's see if she'll try a complete come-back in 1-2 years, but i don't think so. That's a real pity because she was as talented and as good as Vögele in her youth...
