Justine seems to have a mental block against French players, losing to Mary, Amelie, and Marion in Slams. I think she'll lose to a French player.

For some reason I feel like it is going to be a player more like a Jelena Jankovic or Golovin...somebody who will play very solid defense and make Justine push for winners to take a match. In the Stuttgart final, that is essentially what Tati did...and for the first set and a half it was working-- Justine was having issues with her serve and her put-away shots (particularly volleys and over-heads)...common problems some players have when playing indoors. More UE + an opponent who isn't making UE = bad match up.
The more aggressive players give Henin more pace and usually more angels and almost always more UE...all of which allow her to play her counter-punching game to perfection. A power hitter who is truly in the zone could beat her though...but I think it is harder.
Zurich and the YEC will be two places where Henin is more vulnerable that usual. But, all that said, hopefully her streak with continue on :)

I suspect Jankovic early next season.
Justine looked pretty rattled both in Toronto and Stuttgart - and perhaps a less match-pooped JJ would have had an edge.

I wouldn't be surprised...JH is overdue for a relatively inconsequential loss.
Oct 18th, 2007, 08:04 AM
It will be to some low ranked player and everyone will be shocked.

She'll lose to a well-rested JJ at the YEC. If they play in the same group, I'm more than confident Jelena will beat her there.
Oct 18th, 2007, 09:14 AM
Tatiana Golovin or Elena Dementieva, just because with Lena you just never know
Oct 18th, 2007, 09:17 AM

Could be Graf. On October 27th. ;)

Its going to happen sooner or later nobody is invincible,2007 and 2008 could turn out to be different years for her.She played 2007 like she was happy to be free of Pierre Yves and 2008 will be another year, look at pova and Momo they had a spectacular 2006 but fizzled in 07.I think 2008 will be competetive and everyone wants to do their best at the olympics its not going to be easy for sure.
Oct 18th, 2007, 11:01 AM
It will be Serena. You'll see!

i think a venus-in-shape can do much damage to justine.
jankovic has had some very close matchs against her too, but she's out of batteries right now.
tati manage to play a perfect set against justine in stuttgart, but then failed to keep consistent enough to win it.
i so hope amélie is recovering and getting back to her best level in 2008. she's been the only one able to beat justine on a regular basis!! but it will take time i'm afraid...
Oct 18th, 2007, 12:02 PM
Venus is gonna lose in the RR, but she will win in the Finals of the YEC

Oct 18th, 2007, 12:32 PM
Who is the next player to defeat Justine?? :
One thing is for sure...that player will have to hit a lot of "lucky shots". ;)
