Well done to Nicole. I'm sure she gave JJ all sorts of trouble on her serve as expected, and hung on for a fairly routine win.

Evil prevails

BP conversion rate: JJ 29% (2 out of 7, including 2 BPs wasted on the 2nd set), Nicole 80% (4 out of 5). I smell tank (yeah, I know, I've been saying this about every single match played today).

Now JJ can finally rest before the YEC. Far too many players I hate have qualified already, with others due to join them, and I need JJ to give them hell.

Jelena sucks, Ivanovic sucks.

I would rather have Vaidisova in the YEC over both of them.

That is really ridiculous what you are saying. Vaidisova has nothing spectacular done, not won a single tournament since Tier III Strasbourg 2006 and not even reached a final this year. I just can't understand why some people are overrating her so much. Ana and Jelena have won Tier I and Tier II tournaments this year...so stop talking crap...

congrats nicole! jelena needs to sort herself out for the YEC and 2008... she's just gotten worse and worse over the past 12 months!! not that nicole is an easy opponent and jelena should have won, just in general..

glad to see nicole still wearing the sexy blue outfit from the us open!!! would love to see her win here... if they both make it, a justine vs nicole match could be interesting...

u havent heard yet
she is going to play all ITF tournaments also
she cant practice without playing matches
plus she will get appearance fees all the time

and next year she is going to break all records by playing all 52 weeks and perhaps even breaking her 10 consecutive straight losses record

Nicole has a great serve and her strength is in her forehand but she's deadly on both wings. Not a bad volleyer either. Good win for her. Jankovic has lost it since her loss to Justine at the French (although she did beat Sharapova at Birmingham) she hasn't done anything speculator since.

As embarrassed as I am to admit this ... :o ... when I saw the title of this thread, I immediately googled "Nicole Goddessova" to find out who this player was.
