DownTheLine21 Oct 17th, 2007, 05:56 PM Wow! Horrible effort from Ivanovic. Her indoor season started out so strongly, but the final two tournaments have been disgusting. The loss to Golovin isn't that bad, but the scoreline is unacceptable. tae04 Oct 17th, 2007, 05:58 PM Oh my... What a beatdown. Tati has been playing really well this fall. At times Ivanovic plays brainless tennis. LOL Benshka Oct 17th, 2007, 06:00 PM No, no, Ana can't keep this up. You can't be top 5 and lose a match easily (being better than your opponent) every month. :( You need consistency to be a top player! karimcartoon Oct 17th, 2007, 06:00 PM wow im shocked. Marion vs. Tati  IT'S AWWHN :boxing: This will be the first time I'll be rooting for Marion in quite a while. She has become boring with her new high % game - kind of a fat Bammer. But beating up on Golovin is public service. Ballbasher Oct 17th, 2007, 07:22 PM Doesn't seem to be because she got beatdown by Ana after that, but she was prolly just tired. AcesHigh Oct 17th, 2007, 07:53 PM Nice win tati. Ana, very disappointed in you. Rest up for YEC. I still don't see what everyone is raving about with Golovin though. IMO, she doesnt have much potential compared to the likes of Ivanovic, Jankovic, Sharapova, Chakvetadze and others. Maybe I'm just missing something  Slutiana Oct 17th, 2007, 08:29 PM Yes, at number 17 in the Race, she has a great chance to make it ;) I was joking. There was meant to be a smilie there but i submitted it without the smilie and couldnt be bothered to edit it again. anyway, shes not out of the race yet. If she winst her last three tournies, she could be in! Slutiana Oct 17th, 2007, 08:32 PM Nice win tati. Ana, very disappointed in you. Rest up for YEC. Maybe I'm just missing something   the thing is, even some fans of hers were writing her off for the top 10 until the fall. She has a unique game to any active player. I think she can go far. Shes 2-1 this year vs ivanovic now :) OsloErik Oct 17th, 2007, 08:35 PM What does Tati have to do to make herself the #9 in the race? Because I'm thinking either Maria or Serena isn't going to play the full tournament. pigam Oct 17th, 2007, 08:36 PM I think tati had HUGE potential, but so does ANA. Tati has: good athletic body (can get fitter!) great ground game very good serve good anticipation lethal forehand not clumsey (??) @ net => all ingredients to make a great top 10 à top 5 player. hat's more, in Mats Wielander, she has a great (tactical) coach aswell  Justine better watchout, cuz Wielander recently said something that he wants to acchieve with Tati what Carlos has done (is doing) with Justine... Derek. Oct 17th, 2007, 08:47 PM Tati! :woohoo: Knew you could do it! :yeah: OsloErik Oct 17th, 2007, 08:49 PM I still don't see what everyone is raving about with Golovin though. IMO, she doesnt have much potential compared to the likes of Ivanovic, Jankovic, Sharapova, Chakvetadze and others. Maybe I'm just missing something  The big thing is she's been hyped since about 2004. She didn't warrant it back then. She didn't have a truly outstanding win (as in, absolutely out of the blue, beyond the realm of most rational possibility) until the Fed Cup that year, and as much as I love Kuznetsova, lots of players can beat her. Thing is, she hasn't gone away. Unlike a lot of hyped players (Rezai? Linetskaya? Bovina?), Golovin seems immune to personal problems and resilient to injury (she comes back from it as if she'd never been gone). The first time I credited her with having real potential (more than just being, well, hot) was Charleston '05, when she was clearly the 3rd best player in the draw, and had the toughest draw as well. She's consistently done well on every surface, something that can't really be said for a lot players. She's also developed for herself a fairly nuanced game; in addition to having some power and mobility, she's able to change the pace of the ball effectively, take time away from her opponents, and uses her serve quite intelligently. Is she destined for #1? No. Is she destined for top 5? Probably. She's young enough to make it big-time, but she's been around long enough to know what it takes. One big result at a major, and she's the third member of the Sharapova-Ivanovic it-girl elite. What's going to slow her down? Those damn ankles. She's halted in the rankings for substantial portions of her career because she always defends her points (or betters them), but then injures herself right when the big events she could add to her ranking start. How many times has she been healthy for the European clay-and-grass season now, once? Hopefully, she'll make it. She's to engaging (and attractive) a player to lose. aussie_fan Oct 17th, 2007, 09:08 PM Disappointing result for Ana LUXXXAS Oct 17th, 2007, 09:14 PM :help: :spit: :bolt: Sassy-Na Oct 17th, 2007, 09:14 PM tati is a good player :D not many players can take one set from juju  BuTtErFrEnA Oct 17th, 2007, 09:15 PM ana  wtf though!!!! Yasmine Oct 17th, 2007, 09:16 PM :clap2: :woohoo: The Daviator Oct 17th, 2007, 09:24 PM Ana  :fiery: Sassy-Na Oct 17th, 2007, 09:39 PM maybe tati learnt something from yan zi  Marcelo. Good luck against Marion! switz Oct 17th, 2007, 10:47 PM Nice win tati. Ana, very disappointed in you. Rest up for YEC. I still don't see what everyone is raving about with Golovin though. IMO, she doesnt have much potential compared to the likes of Ivanovic, Jankovic, Sharapova, Chakvetadze and others. Maybe I'm just missing something  An in form Golovin plays clinical tennis. she makes a very high percentage of aggressive first serve and uses her accuracy for the lines off the ground to dictate play. She shown an ability to dominant pretty much every player on tour with this game. What you have probably seen is the out of form Golovin (usually coming back from injury) who plays a completely different game that's very tentative and makes her look like a pretty ordinary player. The Kaz Oct 17th, 2007, 11:17 PM Ana doesnt care about MM tournaments...she plays the big one (GS & YEC) Tatiana is still inferior and alway will be to Ana :nerner: fangoria Oct 17th, 2007, 11:28 PM Great job Tati! Actually, Bartoli has bad blood with ALL the others french players!! As a french, i'm happy Bartoli is having a great year because she's helping promoting tennis here, but i really don't appreciate her as a player/person.
