Based on a 10 point scale

Serena (C-) (74)
Won Australia and Miami but was lack-luster for the rest of the year; lost to one person 3x in a row, but did get back in top ten all the way from 140 or something

Venus (C+) (78)
Won Wimbledon and won three titles and got back in the top ten- struggled at the beggining of the year though- struggling now again

Justine (A) (95)
5 points deducted becasue she lost to Bartoli

Jankovic (B+) (89)
Played up to her ability; lost a lot of matches to opponents below her

Maria (D) (66)
Got spanked on several occasions- lost to Radwanska- did make it to the Australian Open final

Kuznetsova (B) (86)
Made Us Open Final

Ivanovic (A-) (91)
Best results this year- FO final, which she failed to make competitive

Chakvedatze (B+)

Vaidisova (B)

A+ - Justine Henin
A - Serena Williams, Venus Williams
B - Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic, Svetlana Kuznetsova
B- - Anna Chakvetadze, Daniela Hantuchova

Those have been the best performers to me this year.

Davenport (A) (95) - Comeback mom wins a tournament, beats Jankovic and Hantuchova, then reaches QF beating Dementieva in Shanghai

Hingis (D) (64) - Reaches QF in Australia, then wins Tokyo tier I, but it all went downhill from there

hmmm,
Jankovic had the most match wins this year.
seemed very consistent,
semifinals at roland garros.
made quite a few finals/semifinals in tournaments....

y not?

serena deserves a higher score, venus deserves higher score as well.

Those rankings are a bit harsh.
JJ deserves an A+ no doubt, and Serena deserves at least a B.
