favourite WTA and ATP players

Hi guys, who are your absolute favourite male and female players of all time and why do you like them? Just wanted to know if there are any common denominators in your choices e.g. style of play, attitude, game etc.

My favorite women alltime would be Mandlikova, Zvereva and Myskina. My current faves are those in my signature.

For the men Fabrice Santoro and Miloslav Mecir would be my top favorites.

As for style I tend to be attracted to players with a lot of variety and touch and I like those that are unconventional. I don't generally like MBBs on either the women's or men's circuit.

I also tend to lean towards East European and French players for both the men and women although that is just a rule of thumb and there are plenty of East European and French players I do not like.

I'm lost and confused with my favorites. My favorite style of tennis is serve and volley/chip n' charge/lots of net approaches and volley winners with short rallies, but well. That kind of doesn't exist anymore. Needless to say, Pete Sampras is :bowdown: as far as I'm concerned.

My all time favorite female player is (maybe you guessed it already...) Martina Navratilova.

I don't really have an all time favorite male player, though, but there are just some players that I like very much...Jimmy Connors, Stefan Edberg, Gustavo Kuerten would be three of them. :)

Paola Suarez for many reasons:

- We are from the same country
- One of those players that leaves EVERYTHING on a court (heart, spirit, etc)
- One of the five best doubles players of all the history
- With Ruano Pascual were UNDEFEATABLE for more than 3 or 4 years
- Strategy, tactics, smart on a doubles court

On the WTA side, my favourite is Monica Seles. My favourite currently playing (as you know) is Svetlana Kuznetsova followed closely by Amelie Mauresmo.

I also like Mary Pierce, Jennifer Capriati, Conchita Martinez and young Agnes Szavay.

I also don't mind Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport

Federer - Absolutely beautiful to watch. Roger is a class act all the way and a great role model for everyone. He is so calm and focused on the court and he is always respectful of his opponents. I hope he wins the french this year and breaks Sampras' record.
