i know bella but i just copy and past it just as it has been said on hingis.org. Martina is getting ready to play and that's more important for her right now than following her boyfriend!;)

I want Martina to come back too, as I like her rivarly with Venus. Hurry back Hingis but don't rush it, only come back if your 100%.

I still don't think she will come back and play the US Open as she is getting her body 100% and I don't think it will be ready in time.

Come back Martina.. Venus needs to practice..

Jul 17th, 2002, 07:43 PM
Are you sure he was talking about tennis?

Sergio could have been refering to a doll attack as well...

Wasn't one of Chucky's favorite lines from the psycho flick as follows?

I saw him say the exact words on the BBC.
When asked: Is Martina here? (he is playing golf here)

martina is training in saddlebrook!:

Saddlebrook – Intense training for the comeback: Her scar on her left ankle, which was operated on the 20th May, is still slightly swollen – yet Martina Hingis (21) grinds her teeth together. At home in Florida, she is training again. Day after day, following a strict timetable. She has only five weeks – then she will say, if she is ready for the US Open.
She was forced to miss the French Open and Wimbledon. On the world rankings list, she has slipped to number 8. But she does not give up. She fights, she does all she can for a return to the pro-circuit: serious and determined on the tennis court. She finds joy and fun in doing different sports to balance her training.
This is how a normal day in the life of Martina Hingis is like: wakes up shortly after seven, breakfast. Then everything is put into the comeback, the whole day is spent on training.
Martina and her mother and coach Melanie Molitor bikes to a nearby tennis court. There the warm-up to the training routine takes place, in spite of the brutal Florida-heat. Martina throws and catches medicine balls, kicks and dribbles with a football.
They play tennis from ten. It is important that they use new balls every day, so that they always go faster. “Martina plays with instinct, not with power like the Williams sisters,” says her mother Melanie, observing her daughter.
Martina trains with a hitting partner. Cross-court, down the line, to the left, to the right – she runs, as not to hurt her operated foot. Martina stresses “I muss pay attention, so that I will not place a burden on my foot.” That’s why she plays on a protective, elastic rubber coating, which the Hingis-clan laid out on the unit. By next week, it will be over: Martina will change to using a hard court.
Martina can train practically undisturbed. In Saddlebrook it is not unusual for established professionals from the WTA Tour to be present.
At noon, she rides back home, where she has two hours for lunch, relaxing and sometimes a little bit of reading – her new hobby.
After the lunch break is more tennis: As in a tournament, Martina now plays a real match. The opponents are usually men – only those the Swiss tennis-ace demand. “It follows, I play with Jennifer Capriati”, concedes Martina – the American also lives and trains in Saddlebrook.
Twice a week she swims under the supervision of the well-known professional swimming coach Ed Brennan. For this, Martina drives an extra 30 miles to Tampa. “Swimming is the best for the body in balancing tennis – first move after injury,” as Melanie Molitor knows. “It is also important that Martina swims technically correct.”
In the evening Martina romps without her tennis raquet. She rounds off her day with rollerblading, cycling or golf in the resort. In addition, she enjoys a massage three or four times a week.
In any case, Martina has earned herself the relaxation. Whether it is with a fine dinner or relaxing in the sauna or in whirlpool. There is also a film on TV or on DVD – but by then Martina is almost asleep.
In the end she is as well as ever: ”I’m too tired for that!”. And for that is her attitude much too professional.

:bounce: :bounce: come back soon, marti! :bounce: :bounce:
