Wait for it. ;)
A silly poll about Anna ChakvetadzeXander Oct 6th, 2007, 04:24 PM Wait for it. ;) Shvedbarilescu Oct 6th, 2007, 05:14 PM Frankly Chakvetadze isn't even that tough a name to pronounce by tennis standards. Xander Oct 7th, 2007, 11:48 AM Frankly Chakvetadze isn't even that tough a name to pronounce by tennis standards. That's true but for the dominant English-speaking media her last name isn't "visually pretty" and Americans in particular are bad at pronouncing anything remotely ethnic. If Anna C was an actress, they would've made her change her name immediately. ;) By the way, I created this thread because I actually think Anna C is gorgeous. She moves about the court in a sexy way, too. :) lympyisthebest Oct 7th, 2007, 11:53 AM Australian commentators have the most trouble with her name. :P mankind Oct 7th, 2007, 12:01 PM Chakvetadze is hard to pronounce? If so, an intriguing premise. mankind Oct 7th, 2007, 12:04 PM Oh, and for those who voted Anna's more into tennis than being a glamour girl, you are WRONG. She's a media-savvy gal. Kworb Oct 7th, 2007, 12:57 PM I think her name is easy compared to something like Kittipong Wachiramanowong or Peerakiet Siriluthaiwattana Chunchun Oct 7th, 2007, 02:19 PM Anna Chakova maybe? Slutiana Oct 7th, 2007, 02:21 PM its not hard. You just say it how it's spelt. Even someone like Henin or Golovin's nameis hard to pronounce because theres so many ways to pronounce it. e.g Henin - En-a, En-een, Hen-een... Golovin - Golo-veen, Golo-van, Golo-vin and so on. Ravsieg Oct 7th, 2007, 04:10 PM It's easy to pronounce going by steps. But I can understand why Americans have trouble pronouncing it, after all English is the most common language nowadays so they're too used to their own language. turko Oct 7th, 2007, 04:12 PM i wishid Anna smile more:Dshe has pretty face | |
