View Full Version : Venus the Queen of Inconsistency

I think with Venus Williams career the truth is you never know what to expect. This reminds me of Mauresmo's loss to that Spanish player this year in the final of Strasbourg event. Its such a shock! Venus just continues to be the queen of inconsistency. Venus was supposed to do win today and she failed at a tier III against the no.33 ranked player in the world. Well I know one thing is certain nobody better expect anything from Venus at next year's Australian Open. The Korean Open title was Venus first hard court title outdoors in five years. I really thought once Venus beat Alicia Molik whom I believe is a better player overall than Razzano that she would of won this title easy. Venus destroyed that French girl in San Diego earlier in the summer. No excuses Venus really blew it. Its a horrible loss. Especially for the current Wimbledon champion.

I mean for Venus to lose on hardcourts to Virgine Razzano is absolutely unacceptable. Especially when Venus had the lead she should of closed this match out in straight sets. I think this is the worst loss of the year for Venus. You just never know what to expect from Venus. I mean Serena losing to Svetlana Kuzentsova I mean yeah its a tough loss for Serena but Svetlana is no.2 in the world. Why did I have a feeling that when Serena lost Venus would too. The Williams Sisters have this weird energy going on with each other.

She's inconsistent because she won a title, then lost in a final the following week?

Perhaps you should look to some other players for real inconsistency.

Razzano has wins against Kuznetsova, Hingis, Ivanovic, Chakvetadze, Bartoli, Safina, Hantuchova, Molik + Zvonareva (when they were Top 10), and HENIN (+ she almost beat her again this year, leading 5-1 in the 3rd set), also pushed Davenport to 3 sets.
So saying Venus should be ashamed of that loss is extremely pretty to Virginie. So if you do not know a player, check his resume before opening a thread about her.

Venus Williams has one of the most consistant careers of the current players.... if not the most consistant... if she makes the 2nd round of the US open next year. she'll have 50+ wins at 2 of the 4 majors.... thats saying something...

She also holds the 2nd most time spent in the top ten........2nd to only davenport i believe...yet shes inconsistant....

I don't think Venus is that inconsistent, but she definitely should have won this, easy.

Mauresmo's loss to Medina Garriguess in Strasbourg after she came back from apendix surgery was hardly a surprise. Venus has been quite consistant since she won Wimbledon (aka since she hasn't played on clay). Your point is absolutely ridiculous, Morrisey. Then again you don't know much about tennis, do you? Razzano is a very tough player when she's playing well as floco posted.
