I don't think this question can be answered yes or no, at least I don't think you can pick an answer right now, there's alot of if's.

If she wants to, YES. That is the question. People questioned Serena's fitness during the Australian open but that didn't stop her from winning a grand slam. If she is hungry for an another grand slam and gets all the preparation in, there is no doubt she will be in a final of a grand slam. Who will stop her winning the slam in the finals you say? Her sister maybe or Justine

Let's see how long it's taken her from 1 major title to the next:

1999 US Open - 5 majors
2002 French Open - 7 majors
2002 Wimbledon - next major
2002 US Open - next major
2003 Australian Open - next major
2003 Wimbledon - 1 major
2005 Australian Open - 3 majors
2007 Australian Open - 4 majors

It's been 3 majors since her last GS title. It would seem that she would win one next year, but you never know. I hope she does, but  that's Serena for ya!

I think she should play more tournaments so that she becomes match tough. Its been a long time since she won five successive in five days. This year she has only played two smaller events Hobart and Rome, she should play more to build match fitness .I think she is tiring easily because she doesnt play as much as she should.
She hasnt won a title outside of Miami in a long time,if she starts winning these events she will start winning those matches she is losing.Grand slams are within her reach until she starts playing and winning smaller events.

No.. the fight will be between Venus and Justine for the top I think. Don't forget Jankovic, Kuznetsova, and Ivanovic are getting better and Sharapova and Mauresmo will be back.

Serena won AO unexpectedly, but we'll never know how good that run was or if it was as good as Justine's run at RG or VEnus's run at Wimbledon. The competition wasn't as great and everyone was caught by surprise. Serena also seems to have lost the fire she had there. No one knows what will happen next year, but if Serena is the same way she is now.. I dont think she has a chance.

Serena was in much worse situation by this time last year, and she still pulled of a GS win, and even in quite spectacular fashion at the final.

Every player has a bad day, where they just don't time the ball well enough or move well enough. It's true that these days have been getting more frequent with Serena, but anyone ruling her out is being really foolish.

Serena can win a slam next year but it totally depends on whether she actually wants to or not...

You make it appear as though Serena didn't play any of the past five years that Henin won majors. We all know the truth is quite the opposite.

It is not impossible but I do consider it unlikely. Other players are continuing to improve and Serena has two liabilities working against her, 1) her knees and 2) her attitude. Once upon a time she could turn up for a tournament unprepared and win it because her talent, confidence and mental strength were that much better than anyone else. Those days are gone.

NO of course not!!! After all Justine will win them ALL just like she did in 2006 when she made the final of ALL the slams... thing is she only won one.

These types of polls and questions are so ridiculously childish and premature.

Lets please wait and see who even turns up for the slams. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

I wish she'd just get into proper shape, quit wasting the few years she has left of tennis. But thats her business.

Serena would NEVER get back to the weight she was when she had the Serena slam so it's time to stop knocking her continuously about her weight. Personally I think she working on it, and because of her age it's taking a little longer plus the continuous injury set back does not help. And her style of play as well.

Until we walk a mile in Serena's shoes we should not judge her and claim she's not serious or wasting her talent. It's probably just a frustrated for her, let her work through it. You can't always be on top but she's doing her best so let's just wait and see.

Didn't get the joke in gram slam. gram as in weight. Her weight is well above average for a female tennis player.

You didn't see the hidden joke in gram slam. Gram is a measurement of weight and we all know the Serena weight is above average for a female tennis player. You are quick to criticize. I'll go back and corrent my post for you retards.

well i personally think 2007 was the year of the comeback...both sisters proved their back and commited and still able to win grand slams...but the year 2008 is going to be the year of the domination its a clever plan u c lol....but seriously i do think 2008 will be a goood year esp. hearing Vee intentions for Beijing Olympics and Ree with giving her FO trophy a friend!
