There are soooo many players like that.So just post what you think who are these players, and who wasted the most, and why do you think so...

Dokic- She's young, could have a great career, but instead she's (not) playing 10k qualies.
Srebotnik- She has the forehand, she has the serve, volleys, even improved her backhand, she is discussed and as a junior was discussed with having much talent, but can't use it, because she is happy with Grand Slam 3rd rounds. Why, if she could take 1 more step by now?
Sprem-She had the game when she was playing good. She wasn't a typical hard hitter, but moved pretty well and had a good serve too.
Kirilenko-She didn't use it by now, but it's looking like she is taking advantage now ;)
Golovin-Out of players borned in '87, '88, '89 she was one of the first who came on the tour with good results. And Ivanovic, Chakvetadze, Vaidisova all made a bigger step on the rankings.

Sorry, I missed a lot of players  :p

Unfortunately due to injuries, Chanda Rubin has never fulfilled her true potential. She could have been a multi-slam winner by now

Somebody Suisse was the WTA Newcomer of the Year in 1998, winning 5 titles (half her career total) @ age 19. Then she came under the control of first a wacky guru, and then the Career Conman her parents hired to get her away from said guru.

After the 2nd bad influence pled guilty in late '02 to a felony for a scam that occurred between '95 and '98 (where her money let him make full restitution and keep his sorry ass out of jail, getting a suspended sentence and probation) he was...

Her coach was soon fired and she never had another steady one (as he wasn't going to risk his meal ticket developing a Justine - Carlos type trust in anyone, who might get her to realize she was being exploited). Since then this perennial Top 20 and sometime Top 10 has won 2 titles, both Tier III's.

I always felt Venus should have won more slams then Serena

Clijsters should have won more than one slam.
Golovin comes to my mind now but her career is far from being over !
Dementieva could have won some big tournaments, a slam and a couple of Tier 1 other than in Tokyo.

Li Na, her groundstrokes can cause some major damage to many players (even the top ones) when she is on, only problem is the consistency & the current injuries. her career isn't over but she just hasn't reached her potential enough to be top 10 or 5, a certain someone who said she would be ;)

VENUS VENUS VENUS. Don't get me wrong, she's amazing. But, with her height, reach, and speed, she should have been the best of this generation hands down. She just never made great improvements on her serve and forehand, although the forehard seems to be a lot better now.

Daniela Hantuchova - too good to have only won two titles in all her years playing

Patty Schynder - has some titles but really deserves at least one French.

first of all kim. she should have won more GS!

and then of course daniilidou. a player who manages to beat henin twice and also had wins against mauresmo, capriati, seles etc etc should have won more titles, money, fame etc etc
i really dont know (i said this in another topic) why eleni is not back in the top 20 or even in the top 10 and why she is not winning more titles!!!
i also wonder why she is still with daniel. he might be a great guy fine...but there is something missing. look at hantuchova...she changed her coach after so many years and she is doing much better
why eleni is not doing the same???
is that what she wants?to be in the top 50 and get to the 3rd or even semi final of a tier 4-5 tournament?how about the GS?
for me she deserves much better than this and she needs to think about her future. keep ur friends but find a better coach

Neither. I just like to rail against wrongdoers like Hoffy, Rafi, and the Bikic Bastards. (And lesser ones like Lei Clijsters, who used Kim to cop 5 Tier II MD wildcards for Elke, whose entire WTA singles record in matches is 0-8). Though except for Meghann B4 she faded into irrelevance 5 years ago, I won't pick on the other victims (like ALG, Jeca, and Kiki) as they haven't been outspoken defenders of their slimeball "owners" like the Strange Suissie has been.

1. definetly dementieva. should have won the usopen in 2004, kuznetsova wasn't ready to win one then but elena let her.
2. Clijsters, could have won so much more if she hadn't retired.
3. myskina wasted talent, faded away after her olympic loss.

Those are the first ones that come to mind.

Dementieva should have a Slam given her resume, also Kim should have won at least 3 Slams, she was so good at sweeping up Tier IIs/Is, but not Slams...

:haha: @ Dunst

also, Sveta not being "ready" to win a Slam ... :o

I guess you can always expect more from any given player so my answer would be "everyone" :p (my faves unfortunately belong to the underachiever team : Mary Conchita Kata Eleni Tati ... )

Serena. She completely threw 3 years of her career away and now is facing the consequences of that indifference.

Venus. But she played the best she could. Her injuries plus having faced off against lil' sis prevented her from being what she could have. But with her injury prone body she accomplished a lot.

Svetlana. Massive headcase will prolly keep her firmly stuck as a one slam wonder.

But Serena has to be one of the worst talent wasters in tennis.

There are a few lesser known players that have not reached there potential like Kirsten Flipkens, Caroline Maes and Debbrich Feys from Belgium. Kirtsen Flipkens was top 100 and now has fallen to late 200 in rankings. There are some players who are starting to show their potential but have not had a chance to really get going like Katie O'Brien of Great Britain and Andreja Klepac of Slovenia.
