I'm surprised nobody has started yet about the comeback of Sharapova so I will do it.According to Yahoo.com Maria has asked for a Wild card to play Moscow.

MOSCOW, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Maria Sharapova (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/403/;_ylt=Amk6wDK7reQ7bwfSr_WxwcQpv7YF) has recovered from a shoulder injury and will make her comeback at next week's Kremlin Cup, tournament organisers said on Thursday.
The world number four has not played since her shock defeat by Polish teenager Agnieszka Radwanska (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/3928/;_ylt=Ammzi.qiBR5Q1SRdQ2Gqqawpv7YF) in the third round of the U.S. Open two months ago.
"Maria has asked for a wildcard and she's got one," Kremlin Cup executive director Alexander Katsnelson told Reuters.
Last week Sharapova said that she would not play again until the season-ending championships in Madrid at the earliest, but Katsnelson said the Florida-based Russian has changed her mind and was eager to play in Moscow.
"She said she's feeling fine and is ready to play," he said.
It will be Sharapova's third consecutive year playing in Moscow, with the previous two ending in disappointment.
She was forced to pull out of the indoor tournament with a foot injury last year and was beaten by compatriot Dinara Safina (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/170/;_ylt=AtudM2vru6ZRsngYSmxrTr0pv7YF) in the quarter-finals in 2005. Two other former world number ones, Serena Williams (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/134/;_ylt=ArcMr7L6MCeu9cNv91JVjJwpv7YF) and Marat Safin (http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/players/37/;_ylt=Aj0h6zxT1YHizZvKm4WbWigpv7YF), also received wildcards into the combined $2.3 million tournament, which starts on Monday. Safin will also make his return following a two-month layoff.

I hope she serves well. This makes the week more interesting. Maria has only played 3 matches in Russia so far.

Good, I want Sharapova at the YEC

No matter who you're a fan of, Sharapova + Williams x 2 + Serbians x 2 + Justine equals an awesome YEC

i doubt the shoulder is that good, but i think that she's scared she won't get the place, plus not playing for 3 months, she's never great in these long absenses esp when you play against top 8 from the beginning

So should her shoulder be fine during Moscow will she be defending her points in Zurich and Linz?

If she doesn't play Zurich and Linz she could be ranked #7 or #8 at the end of the year.

Or maybe the month she just had off was enough time to recover.

If the shoulder was injured, it's still injured. She hasn't served well all year, and suddenly it's healed? Riiiiiiiight.

Either her serving woes aren't being caused by an injury, or she's making a short-sighted decision. Or she has some kind of bonus in some endorsement contract for making the YEC. My advice to her (like anybody cares) is to sit the year out, play a tune-up two weeks before OZ, and see how the shoulder's doing. Continued play could turn an acute injury into a chronic one.

It's going to be very interesting to see how well Maria plays.
Before the loss to Aga, Maria had a winning streak going. She had won SD, pulled out of a SF in LA, and easily won her first 2 rounds in NY.
People were penciling her in to the USO final like it was a given.
