She doesn't like the tournament, public don't support her too much as well. Simple as that.

Nadia played a big part in winning Hopman Cup and Fed Cup for Russia.
She should play Moscow and defend her points.

That is really really odd to me that she won't be there. And it's even stranger that no one really has a reason for it...

It's also strange because she plays nearly every week and has finalist points to defend.

She's decided to have a break ... and give Justine a chance this year. :p

compared to nastya or Lena
Nadia doesnt even register.

Nastya isn't playing. The crowd supports Nadia. That's not why she isn't playing.

Do you know why then?

It's a stressful week for her. Lots of traffic, her parents and other relatives are there.
More offcourt distractions than she wants.
That's no excuse, Nadia should be there. Especially this year. She just held the Fed Cup a few days ago.

Every time Nadia played in Moscow she complained about:
court surface
match scheduling
public and so on

In 2003 there was almost a scandal when she got mad about being scheduled to play at 11 am.

As for last year's Vaidisova match it was not the case of supporting Petrova, it was the case of supporting Russian player against foreign player.

Nadia doesnt even register.

Exactly.

Yet she still won a tier 2 title and reached the finals of another 2 while Nicole still can't reach the finals of a tier 2 event. :spit:

You shouldn't answer, especially when we look at Nadia's miserable performances in GS since the 06AO

There wasn't almost a scandal. Nadia complained about scheduling at the YEC last year. She often does if she has to play in the morning after she played later in the day.

There was. And it was Petrova's first match at the tournament that year. She complained she hadn't adjusted to the time zone after flying all the way from Leipzig to Moscow (sure, there is a huge distance between the two cities ) and openly blamed organisers for her loss to Smashnova.

As expected, you don't. Just sucking it out of your finger as Russians say.

Nadia was in Moscow last year and made the final. There was no scandal, and there's no reason for Nadia to not be there this year.
