Kateryna is meant to be the lesser Bondarenko sister!
And Alonya is not even that good....:tape:

Oh well, congrats Kateryna. I thought you played well at Fed Cup vs. Australia, better than Alonya anyhow.

Shocking result though.

i'am so disappointed :sobbing: & not to mention frustrated :fiery:
Ana was coming off a title run in Luxembourg & I thought that she would at least make the semis since she was so motivated in doing well at this tournament. Hope you can do better in Zurich & you'll come back even stronger :D

She's way better than her sister but such a mental midget. This is a great result, good job Katya.

Ivanovic is overrated, she sucked today. Too many errors against such a lower ranked player. But Bondarenko had a good serve and would just attack any short ball. Ivanovic isn't #4 in the world.

Cp6uja
Oct 4th, 2007, 02:00 PM
It's better for her to tank matches against players like K. Bondarenko or Z.Yan than TOP20 players like against Schnyder yesterday or Golovin tommorow...

Here is quote from her diary after Luxembourg:
Something that occurred to me after this win is that all three of the tournaments I have won this year have been after a break: Berlin, Los Angeles and Luxembourg. I had three weeks' rest/preparation before all of these tournaments. It's obviously a good formula for me.

She know better what is best for her...

I look at stats when results is 3-3 *30-00 on Bondarenko serve in 3rd and i see that Bondarenko won at her serve 14 points of her 15 serves (1st and 2nd toghether). Honestly, i dont see that she served like Roddick (especialy her 2nd serve is not so impresive)...

this is why pretty girl will never NEVER win a slam.
she loses matches she's supposed to win.
2 times this year she has lost to a huge underdog.
first yan in canada

What I will say is that you have more opportunities to win moving Ana around the court and this is the tactic of Bondarenko today, it's clear that if you leave Ana play with the command of the game it's very difficult to win.

ARGH! But seriously. Damn! I hate when players mislead you. Ana came off a tourney win and a 6-0 6-2 total thrashing of Patty Schnyder - a good player. And here she is, losing to K. Bondarenko, the less talented of the sisters. And Krajicek won against Bondarenko :o And then today Krajicek lost to Petrova, a player Ana has won against many times.

Get some consistency Ana, please! :help:

Oct 4th, 2007, 03:49 PM
This match reminded me of Hantuchova's loss to Vakulenko at the US Open. As I wrote yesterday, everyone who can put pressure on Ana will do well against her.
As for Bondarenko, she's just another ballbasher. Exactly what WTA needs. Ivanovic showed some variety to my surprise, but she shouldn't have played at the net so often because her volleys still aren't on a necessary level.
I wanted Ana to win.

Ok, to some posts I don't even reply. Unbelieveable that there's nonsense again after 5645864613 threads.

I still can't figure out what's trouble her.
You can say Kateryna played well, but that's actually not the case.
The differences in Ana's level today was way too high.

Maybe she was indeed tired, but that may not be the case either.
She just needs the ability to play at least 2 tournaments in a row at 100%.
She always makes me sad with another loss. I won't get used to it.

1 week of rest before Zurich and then 2 after that before Madrid.
She can do so much more than she's showing. Somehow she makes it just more difficult for herself than needed.

GOOD LUCK for Zurich.

Ana http://www.swapmeet-models.co.uk/images/corgi/thumbs/cc60202-panther-messina.jpg this match because she need rest after winning Luxembourg and before tier-I in Zurich and YEC.

BTW, she dont need new http://www.autocity.com/reportajes/nuevos_roadster_02_2004/img/porsche_boxter.jpg because she have greate exclusive contract to promote http://www.vroomvroomvroom.co.uk/gfx/cars/peugeot-307.jpg cars  :p  .

List of players which in 2007 win against Ana theys career best (ranked) victory:

Yaroslava Shvedova
Sibile Bammer (late this year she won 1 place better ranked Dementieva)
Zi Yan
Kateryna Bondarenko

And all that is from player which have fantastic 12-4 H2H record against TOP10 players this season (best by far after Henin)! So i dont think that Katya will win tommorow more than 5 games against Tatiana Golovin.

Well said :yeah:
It's nice to hear fans like you who can say good thing on the other player, when their favorite lost.

But I think Ana just played too well against Patty yesterday ( ) and today it was like a let down for her.. But Katya played very well, and took her chances. Good for her! :)

:weirdo: stop with these excuses, already. Have some respect to Kateryna

Kateryna seems to be a tricky-good player that can really sneak up on someone. Kudos to her.

Ana...

Well, Ana has to find more consistency to be a real champion. This is a bad loss for a top 5 player.

Kateryna is really starting to put good results back to back which is good to see, though i still think alona is better

This clearly shows Ana Ivanovic is overrated.

surprising, but not "unbelievable", "not possible" etc etc. it's easy to lose focus after such a high. big deal I say. well done kateryna! she's a good player. :yeah:

And to think that only 3 bets (totalling 13 VCash) were placed on Kateryna to win yesterday...

Ana, stay strong... be seeing you soon in Zurich!

ana :tears:

from what i've read so far it seems kateryna played really well.. so no excuses for this loss.. players with nothing to lose are always dangerous to play against

ana just needs to work on her consistency.. and her weaknesses.. unless she wants to arrange her schedule and play only every three weeks..:D

anyway i'm still a fan and i know she'll bounce back from this defeat!

Ivanovic isn't the type of player who will ever build herself a win streak, it seems. She's too inconsistent. This was better than the Yan Zi debacle, however.

I've seen a part of this match. It seems that Kateryna hits harder than her sister, whereas Alona seems to be more of a counterpuncher.
