It'll depend on how Serena moves. If she's moving well, she'll win in straight sets. Otherwise she'll lose in three sets or two close sets. I'll go with Serena, reluctantly.

Sveta played her best match of the year against Radwanska. The quality of tennis showed by both girls was unbelievable.
If Kuznetsova can reproduce this tennis in Serena's match she has a real shot for the semis. But I don't think she'll be able to do it.

I think Serena will win but it will be tight. Sveta was serving amazing last match but Serena will cope with those second serve kickers alot better than the slight Azarenka.

Dependent on Serena's first serve percentage for sure. The edge to Serena because Kuznetsova has never beaten her and Kuznetsova is a mental case, and Kuznetsova needs to serve well to just be in contention.

This is not an upset. Sveta indoors is a nightmare. Serena wins -- one easy, one tough set. 6-2, 7-5.

Did you actually see the Sveta/Aga match or just read that Sveta had trouble serving it out? She was in scintillating form hitting winners left and right and her opponent was playing extremely high quality tennis (easily one of the top 5 best matches for quality on tour since Wimbledon). It's the best she's played in at *least* four months. Serena I agree didn't look stellar at all, she was going for far too much at 4-1 up and ended up winning the first set on a let-cord. Vakulenko was hitting more UEs than winners and yet it wasn't a stroll and Serena's serve kept her out of trouble in the 2nd set and was ultimately the difference. Sveta was brilliant though, serving like a demon, volleying superbly and hitting loads of winners.

If both play the way they did in the second round Sveta wins handsomely. I don't expect that to happen though because Sveta doesn't play that well that consistently and usually has at least one set where she totally bombs. 3 sets, I'm more inclined to expect Serena to step it up than Sveta to hold her form so Serena in 3.

Exactly, it's hard to judge Sveta's development on one match because she is such a streaky player, but the way she's played on the faster surfaces (grass and indoors) this year indicates she really wants to become an all surface threat. She's using her serve better than she has in ages, and her volleying has been very sharp this entire season. If she busts out the serve-and-volley like she can, she can definitely take this match.

On the other hand, Sveta is the most unpredictable player in the top 10. She can be brilliant one match and freeze up the next. Seriously, she needs a psychologist or something. I expect it to take three sets, but I think the longer match will actually help Sveta. Girl can run. She may be in funky conditioning, but I really get the sense that she could go on playing for four or five hours and it wouldn't matter.

If Serena plays like what she did in the 1st Round, Sveta will be blown away from the court in 2 straight sets.

Otherwise, it's too close to call... they have not met for so long, and anything can happen (although my head says Serena to win in 3).
