LMAO. Tati :worship:
Her serving stats looked good. Hope she played well at least.
This surface suits Tati's game because it's slow hardcourt.
Hope she can win more than 3 games against Ana now. :o

Wow! I thought for sure evil would stick around a match or two longer!

So many early round losses now, I love it.

Doesn't Golovin face Ivanovic/Schnyder next or something? That should be a great match if Schnyder gets through.

Well done Tati :hearts: :bigclap: Isn't Chaky supposed to do few UEs? I mean each and everytime I see her playing, it's an error festival from her (let alone this boring bodylanguage and this horrible hair)!

Pathetic stuff Anna. You could have easily won that first set and cruised in the second.

Go and rest.

Great match from Tati, well fought till the end with a reduced amount of errors, very impressive tactically.
She served much better in the second set with a high percentage & some great aces.
Anna on the other side was hopeless from *52 till the end.

Congrats! Much needed points in her pocket! :)

Tatiana served well, but I wasn't impressed with either player much, and I like Tati quite a bit. Lots of errors from both and Tati's backhand is oafish as ever. She was down 2-5 in the first set, a double break, and I stopped watching the French Eurosport live feed since I thought the match was done but then I check again and it's 6-5 Tati. :weirdo:

But her forehand seems to be okay, at least.

Great win for Golovin. How far will Anna's ranking fall whens she fails to defend her indoor titles?

Not far, sadly. Maybe two spots at worst, though I can't imagine her dropping at all unless someone beneath her does well to get past her. Moscow was a big result for her, but she's gotten enough points in 2007 to offset even a 2R loss there.

Anna was up like 5-1 in the first or something...

Oct 3rd, 2007, 04:27 PM
:tape: Chaky, up to 5-2 in the 1st set, she was in a different class, then just went to absolute pieces. A few months ago she wouldn't have dreamed about losing this kind of match up, but mentally she just looks exhausted out there to me.

Thanks for the insight. I'm glad Tati didn't fall apart after being down 2-5. She was dead mentally most of the times.

Tati's BH has always been very lame. She can't even get it past mid court at times. I hope she has it fixed during the off-season with Mats. Didn't realize Tati got 6 aces though.

I don't expect Tati to defend her final, but glad that she could reach QF at least! She got lucky with the draw. But yay nonetheless.

To all who think Chakvetadze is the next Hingis or Myskina:
she is not, she is a one-dimensional player (yes, I said so on purpose) who can't change her tactics during the match and can't even change the rhythm of the game. Moreover, she's becoming predictable in her shots selection. This match was the perfect illustration of how limited her game is.

.:sk:.

Great comeback in the first set from 2-5!!! The second set seemed to be easy because Anna was making more and mor mistakes. I didn't expect a 2-set-win...

:worship:

I actually thought her tactics were a bit different in this match than against most others I've seen. Her incessant DTL shots on both sides were replaced with crosscourt backhands or DTL forehands to Tati's backhand a good bit, which is a good strategy against her.

By the time it was evened up in the match she started going for broke and it just didn't work. Complete mental collapse.
