<font size=5>Barbara Miele wins and fight with the judge line</font>

Casablanca - The younger of Mieles sisters won Catherine Pierce yesterday, in straight sets, both in tie break. Barbara Miele who came having bad results, including a terrible loss to Kournikova Elia last week in Yucatan. "She is a tough competitor. But unfortunely wasn't my moment again against her last week. I hope I can win her someday."

But now Barbara is only happiness and in same time anger. She won Catherine Pierce in two tough sets, and had a terrible discussion with the judge line. "You should use glasses before umpire this match!" said Barbara to the umpire who marked ball out during the first tie break, which Barbara won 10-8. Then Barbara went to the umpire of the match to change that judge line. But the umpire didn't. <br />Miele threw her racket on the court, and was booed by the crowd.<br />"She didn't knew how to umpire. I don't know why she was there umpiring! My little cousin would do better than her." said Barbara after asked of her fight with the umpire.

Barbara now faces the winner of Daniela Turundhzov from Australia and Diana Mahler, from Germany. And with Lara Miele in doubles are the third seed.

Tired Turundzhov advances after disappointing end to Yucatan Cup!

Australian junior Daniela Turundzhov has managed to fight her way through to the 2nd rnd of the Grade 1 junior event in Mexico today, with a 3 set win over Germany's Diana mahler.

After losing the final of the Yucatan Cup in 2 tight sets to Natalya Dholpocova, Turundzhov left straight for the Casablanca, just managing to make her match.

Here is an interview with Turundzhov:

Q: Daniela, a really good fighting win out there, still disappointed after losing the Yucatan Cup final?

A: Yeah, well, it was a tough loss and I was a little disappointed but I knew I had to get it together quick because Diana's just such a good player. You can't play her without being fully concentrated so I just put the loss behind me straight away and just did what I had to do.

Q: When did you find out you had to play today?

A: Well, with Team Champion, we have a group of 20 split into 4. So there were 5 of us in a group, Barbara (Miele), Lara (Miele), Ana Maria (Herrera) and Catherine (Pierce). They had already left and we have 2 coaches, trainers and managers. So 1 coach, trainer and manager stayed back with me, for the final. Oleksandr (Klemesch), our coach was with me and he knew yesterday but he didn't tell me anything because he didn't want to take my mind off the final. Once I finished, he said, Daniela, you must hurry, you are playing Mahler and 6pm, and I was like Oh no, not again! (laughs)

Q: You won your matches, but Natalya lost hers, what do you think is the difference between you two?

A: I think she was really happy she won the Yucatan and I don't think she was prepared mentally for Elena, who's a really good player.

Q: You're in the top 10 now, are you satisifed with the way you're playing?

A: Yeah for sure but I want to aim for top 5 at the end of the year, that's my aim. I think I can do it (laughs). We'll see how it goes.

<br />Thanks Daniela

Thanks (yay, I can get some rest!)

Daniela Turundzhov thumps a forehand in her 7-5 3-6 6-4 win over Diana Mahler.

Dlhopolcova Ousted By Dokic

Interview with Natalya Dlhopolcova

Q: Natalya, a bit of a let down for you today after winning singles and doubles earlier, what went wrong out there?

A: Well, a combination of things. I mean, obviously I was really drained having been playing non-stop in both events last week, so that was tough, and I think not having much experience I just didn't focus too well today. I've just been so happy to win such a big event that I probably didn't prepare myself well enough.

Q: Did you expect a tough match from Dokic?

A: Oh definetly. I really don't see this as a bad loss, Elena is ranked higher, and she's been lurking around the top 10 for some time, so it was a bit unfortunate to face her in round 1. It just shows how deep the field is at this level.

Q: A good learning experience for you?

A: Yeah, like I said before I really haven't had too much expectations yet, not until 2002 starts. I came in fully knowing that there was the potential I'd have my rough patches, or tough losses, so it's not a huge shock for me. You just take the positive from it and move on. I'm happy there has been some good experiences too, and hopefully I can take this match as a reference to future experiences similar to it.

Q: Thanks Natalya.

<font size=5>Barbara shows hard feelings for tragedy involving Conde sisters</font>

Casablanca - Even after Marta Maria's death in a car accident, Miele don't respect the young spaniard.

"I'm sure we won't miss them. They did nothing!" said Barbara to the press. "Life is hard. You have to learn in live with this. And she was a bad person." Miele expressed her true feelings about Conde sister's death.

This discussion began in Orange Bowl, when Barbara said that Marta Maria wasn't a player in her level, and Marta Maria started to answer Barbara's aggressive comments. Then, since there, both players didn't had any kind of communications, even on trainnings or even in their matches. They left the court without shake their hands.

"I feel sorry for their parents for being enduring them these years..." Miele said about Conde's education.<br /> <br />After two weeks Barbara or Marta Maria didn't mentioned each names in their interviews, seems like now Barbara will be marked for this for the rest of her life. "I don't care how people will react. Or even the players. I gave my opinion as you guys asked!" said Miele who was booed yesterday, and said she doesn't care if she becomes the target of the hootings in her next match against Daniela Turundhzov.

Katarina Kriventcheva-Molik will have to withdraw from doubles due to Marta Maria's death. Molik asks the organizers of the FWTT tour to exclude this results from her ranking, due to special circumstances. Also, Molik is officially looking for a new doubles partner. She is a former no.1 in junior doubles, and is currently ranked no.2. She won her first tournament too.

Mary Wong is happy with her win, before the match, they have a minute silence for Conde Martinez death, Mary stress that it is important that the tour should carry on as normal. She also denied all rumours about pairing with Mutula next year in doubles but said that since she and Turundzhov will have to talk about their future since they did nit do well recently

<font size=5>Barbara Miele loses under hootings to Turundhzov</font>

Casablanca - The match began with a minute of silence in Marta Maria Conde Martinez's honor, which Barbara didn't respected and went to her bench and take her racket, and continue waiting sitted at her bench looking for the sky, and when the cerimony ended the crowd also didn't respected Barbara Miele, that when standed up to warming up against Daniela Turundhzov, the crowd all started the booos above the young brazilian.

And it became more stronger when Barbara began serving. She stopped and went to the judge to ask for silence, and this made the crowd gets more angry, and gets more hard with the provocations. "I'll never play this tournament more!! It such a bunch of uneducated people!" said mad Barbara Miele. Even with the crowd's affort, Barbara made the talented Australian Daniela Turundhzov work. As she lost the first set 6-2, and won the second 6-3, with an ace that made two person spits in Miele while she rested in her bench in the break of the set to another.

Miele went to umpire, who made the person to leave the court. Than the third set began, Miele looked impressive, and seemed like she was ready to make her party at the court, but she was facing a focused and tough opponent, that tied everything at 5-5. Miele still had the chance to serve to win the match, but Turundhzov made 6-5.

In this game Miele couldn't handle the crowd's pressure, and started to fell on tears. And made 2 double faults. "I was crying of anger, not cause I was regreting." Miele said after the match. Miele's serve entered at the 0-30, Turundhzov didn't take control on her return, and float. Miele went the net to make the smash, someone in the crowd screamed, and Miele made a wrong smash which looked easy for a player in her level. Than Miele blew out, and screamed "Could you please shut the f**k up!!!!?????" Turundhzov reacted with the point and three match points. Miele's first serve went so weak, that Daniela Turundhzov returned making a winner, closing then a tense and nervous match in the central court.

The excited Australian kept her streak defeating the eighth seed, and went to the net to shake her hands at Miele. "Daniela and I are great friends. The people got mad at me just cause I didn't liked Marta Maria. I am obligated? I don't think so" Miele reacted after one of the questions. "I wish that Marta Maria is resting in hell with her friend soul! I dedicate this loss and all my previous loss to her!"

Lara advanced in the tournament, as the Mieles in doubles didn't play, and will be in action tomorrow. About now the crowd's provocation affect their preformance in doubles Barbara isn't so worry. "I want this people to f**k themself and leave me alone!!"

Turundzhov advances to the quarterfinals, also has trouble with the crowd!

World no 9 Daniela Turundzhov has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Grade 1 Casablanca Cup.

Her win was not without controversy, as constant heckling from the crowd followed her opponent Barbara Miele, as Turundzhov moved into the next round.

Turundzhov also had problems with the crowd and the linecalls she was getting. Here is an interview with Turundzhov:

<br />Q: Daniela, happy to be through to the quarterfinals?

A: Yeah, I sort of expected to, you know, do well this week but you can't take any players for advantage and I just focused well out there and got through. It was a good sort of match to get me ready for my next opponent.

<br />Q: Your opponent Barbara Miele shwoed no respect to the memory of Marta Maria, she chose not to take the minute's silence?

A: Yeah, well, I mean, it's her choice of what she wants to do. I was just concentrating on myself and not what she was doing, you know, I felt that I had to pay my respects, she obviously didn't. My parents brought me up to always respect people no matter the differences, I probably wouldn't have done the same thing if I were in her position but she chose to and she has her reasons.

<br />Q: The death of Marta Maria was so sudden, it must have been tough to concentrate?

A: Yeah, but I was just wondering how she died in Gijon when she was in Mexico yesterday. You know, it was a shock to all the girls and we were all affected. I used to speak to her and we were pretty friendly but when I started challenging her, she became a little stand offish. It was really sad and just my luck, I had to play the only player that wasn't affected (laughs). It was tough, definitely.

Q: You said Marta Maria changed, why is that?

A: Well, I think she has a very competitive mentality which is great. I think when a player's beneath her and doesn't do so well, she tends to be a lot more friendlier but when they started winning, challenging her, she probably wasn't so friendly which I respect.

Q: The crowd was in your favour and it affected Barbara, did it affect you?

A: Definitely, I mean, we were both hearing the same sound, we both had problems you know. I sort of didn't like the way they behaved but in some cases, I think she asked for it. I was just trying to concentrate and it was a little tough.

Q: You seemed to approach the umpire quite a bit, what was that? Line calls, the noise?

A: Both, mostly the sound and I think you know, I got some really bad calls. It was definitely very hard to concentrate and you know, I just asked the umpire to ask them to be a little quieter because it affects me too. The calls I got sometimes were really bad but I mean, at 5-5 or 6-5, she hit a serve that looked really long and I could only float the ball back but lucky she missed. I just think you know, we're all humans and we make mistakes so they won't overrule on this surface.

Q: Were your arguing?

A: No, no, a little but mostly just checking.

Q: Next up is Anne Gambill, what do you think?

A: I 've played her quite a bit recently, you know, I'm 0-4 against her but tomorrow's my day and I'm playing better than I've ever played before so I think it's my best opportunity. It'll be tough.

Thanks Daniela

Anne Gambill advanced into the quarterfinals with a 0-6 6-0 7-6 win over Meghann Adeva. But she was not happy with the way she played!<br />'The first set was pathetic!I couldn't get a first serve in or hit a single good shot.It was lucky that by the end of the set i got into more rallies and warmed up otherwiae i would have lost 6-0 6-0!'<br />'The second set was totally different after i held serve easy i decided to just wack my returns and thgey kept hitting the lines,it raised my spirits and i played well from then on'<br />'The third set was intense we both played really well, there was nothing to chose between us,in the end it was my little bit more of experience that won me that tiebreak'<br />She was asked about playing Daniela Turundzhov in the next round<br />'Well i have beaten her 4 times in a row and shes never beaten me.I go into the match with the best chance of winning but shes been playing amazing the past few weeks so who knows i'll have to play much better than today in order to win!

Despite, the presumed death of her only doubles partner, Marta Maria Conde-Martinez, Katarina Kriventcheva-Molik was able to win a match and reach the Quarterfinals. Molik lost to Karen Paterson of Britain, who is now in the final. She lost in two tough tie-breakers. <img src="frown.gif" border="0"> Molik has had consistently good results, particularly this one due to the circumstances surrounding it. Katarina is pleased with her performance, and wishes Paterson good luck in the final. One thing Molik would like to confirm to the organizers, is that her doubles loss not count, due to the death of her partner.
