Monica_Rules and Raj:

Thanks for the correction. I forgot to take away the Fed Cup results for everyone.

It's updated now.

Yes, Anna K. has played 19 tourneys.

I changed the title of the thread to say that these stats are only for the top 20.

Rubin won Eastbourne, so either hse's played 7 tournies and lost 6 times, or has played 6 tournies and lost 5 times.

I knew someone was going to ask about Rubin. The stats are correct.

In Berlin, she lost in qualifying but got in as a lucky loser then lost in the main draw. So that's 2 losses in the same tourney.

If Walkovers and Injury Retirements do not count, then Serena numbers are 35-2= 95%. One of her three loses was against Meghan Shaughnessy when she got injured in Australia. Then, Serena has a Walkover win against Mauresmo in Berlin.

Also, Venus 40-6= 87%. She had a Walkover win against Jelena Dokic at the Paris Indoors final.

Retirements do count.

All of that has been taken into account already.

Darkhart,

I may have misunderstood your original post in this thread, when you wrote, "This is only for the top 20 for the year 2002, so far. Walkovers do not count. Retirements do count. Qualifying does count. Fed Cup does not count. Doubles are not counted, but I may add that later."

My bad!

How about the Hopman cup?

Darkheart

Hopman Cup is mixed doubles so it's not counted.

That is a pretty useful indication Fed-cup... and I didn't expect Monica and Justine to be that close... esp since Monica did better at 2 slams... may be it is due to the fact that Monica hardly played on clay

aura of daniela
Jul 17th, 2002, 11:18 AM
Yaaaay......Daniela is the match warrior this year.
Every tournament Daniela enters, she seems to make a quarter final in either singles or doubles.
Thats why she is a great player to watch, she just wants to play as much tennis as possible, and allows her fans to see plenty of her.

I mean, she play 14 matches at the Australian Open this year alone..........that was great for me.

Thanks guys
