she's lost about 9 matches in a row, including first round of the challenger event in morocco

i last saw her at wimbledon, after her loss, walking with her coach towards the locker room, via the public gangways. suddenly, they stopped before the door to privacy, and Angeles broke down, turned her face to the wall, and stayed there for about 10 minutes, probably crying. her coach was by her side, probably trying to persuade her to get herself together and to go behind closed doors. it was a very sad scene.

she played so well against seles in 1r of Roland Garros, that it's too bad she's putting together such a dismal results.

Vamos Angeles. Onwards and upwards again. Magui snapped her losing streak this week after a dreadful grass court season.

How sad...

I also remember her match with Seles at the French this year. Wasn't she up like 5/0 1st set, lost that lead, but went on to win the set in a tiebreak? I thought she would win that match, but she totally went away after dumping a chance to go up 4/3 in the 2nd set.

I don't feel bad for someone who was doing obscene gestures during matches, as she did with Monica at the French...

Good point ktwtennis. The obscene gesture towards Monica was simply tastless.

it is a shame, and sad that she didnt take more advantage of the clay season. oh well, hopefully she can improve and take advantage of all the points she doesnt have to defend nerxt year!

Very emotional isnt she?? She was practically crying during the third set at RG while playing Monica. I didnt know Angeles had lost 1st round at Wimbledon though.

Chrispy your right... She looked ULTRA-emotional in that 3rd set.

I don't think she was making that gesture AT monica - i think some of you dramatising that a bit...... she did it when she missed an easy shot - she did not do it to offend monica... besides - i found it quite funny..... and creative ;)

Poor ┴ngeles gets emotional when she is losing, I think she is almost crying (or even crying) when she is doing bad (she does that ALWAYS)...And her ranking is really bad now, I'm afraid she won't never be again top 50, but the positive thing...just few points to defend for next year ;)

Danke Anke,

she put her racket between her leg, the handle pointing like an excited dick and then made a gesture towards Monica. She got a warning.

The gesture was an excited dick towards Monica. In other words, with the racket she made a dick between her legs and made a gesture towards Monica. I hope she never wins another match... EVER!

Well what is Motolio's problem? She has won one tournament this year but had been abysmal prior and after that victory this year.

Has she changed her style of play? Does she have some emotional problems? Something has triggered her downslide but what?
