After Bali, which she could very well win, what other tournaments for the rest of the year will Davenport be playing?

Will she be asking for wildcards into bigger tournaments like Zurich, Stuttgart, Moscow or Linz or perhaps play some smaller tournaments like Seoul, Bangkok, Quebec or Tokyo?

Thanks.

She is in China next week but I read in another thread that is the only other event she is entered for the rest of the year.

If she wants to be in good form for the 08' season and have a credible chance at contending for 3 of the Grand Slams next year (not French) then she should try playing one or two more to sharpen her skills a little in preparation for the Australian Open season.

She should play one more... another low tier and thats it. She can always start back next year with the string of tourneys before the AO.

Yeah, i agree. Maybe a tournament like Tokyo or Quebec where no top players are entered and also would allow for plenty of time off between Bali and the next one.

I would think she would play atleast 3 so she will have a ranking. So i am thinking next week in China and Quebec. Hopefully she will play another 1 in between those if she feels up to it. :bounce:

Lindsay hates Europe.....during the clay season :p

She likes the indoor season, but with Jagger she may not want to play a lot, anyway, I hope she plays Zurich cos that's HER event :hearts: and Quebec and that would do nicely for this year :p

Isn't this the last year for Zurich?
I would think they would love to have her and the fact that she has such a great record there doesn't hurt. Come on!!!!!

Why will Zurich end? Because of the new calendars? Stupid calendars..

Anyway I think Lindsay should play at least one indoor event, she always rocks at those!

I would love to see her in Zurich for it's prefinal year on tour! It's all up to her, how she feels etc. She never liked playing in Europe, and then it happened often tha she came and won 3 tourneys in 3 weeks, so lets hope for another try from Lindsay:hearts:

Hopefully she plays at least one tier I after Beijing. I know everyone thinks she'll play in Quebec, but i don't see it happening.

I'm sure she won't have any trouble receiving a WC into any of these tier I events.

She'll still be ranked even if she just plays Bali and Beijing because she was still high enough to be entered directly into all 4 slams and Miami this year so she's got 5 lots of zero pointers. (If you look at the WTA ranks she currently has 7 tournaments counting even though she's only played 2 - Bali 06 and Beijing 06 - in the last 12 months.) If it wasn't for the new rule on mandatory tournaments she would have fallen off the rankings this week after the USO points had come off.
