They were (up until a week ago) the number one and two seeds. They couldn't meet until the final of whatever tournament they played.
The finals of tournaments Sharapova made it to (Australian Open, Birmingham, San Diego) Justine wasn't entered.
The finals Justine made (too many for me to remember off the top of my head), Sharapova didn't make it to.

The only tournaments both Henin and Sharapova competed ths year were Miami, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open. Each time they could meet only in final.
The funny thing is it's Roland Garros where they almost got to each other :lol:

Last year they met in a slam final, SF, and they played for YE #1 at the YEC.

but we are talking bout players who just regained their form...
its not like Venus was like her old self...
its like for lindsay...
she might have something like 0-5 for the beginning of next year...
and for the next 5 months...
it changed to 10-7...
and we are using the facts with the players regained ability...
we just need to look deeper within the numbers really..
what they mean...
not just by what they show...

Last year a lot of people thought Maria was just as good as Justine.
