Yes she is, her serve is breaking records, second serve is more consistent, and that erratic forehand is booming winners. Add to that magnificant court coverage and improving net play we are witnessing a Venus who will be a force for years to come. The only negative I see is her anemia, so here is to her for getting that under control. Lookout WTA here comes the new Venus Ebony Starr Williams.

the fact that someone would need to creating thread saying venus is getting better is just ridiculous. it suggests that she is backsliding. if this were pre-2007 wimbledon i could see. but stating she is "getting better" suggests to me that she is faltering.

ACtually hes saying that her games getting better than its ever been. And i agree Venus is on the edge of possibly dominating the tour again......

What are you smoking? As someone who has watched her from the getgo I can testify to that which is why I did not take her semi loss as hard as in the past:lol: Let's face it, the errors will always be there because of her high risk game, but her shot placement and selection has improved. Contrary to popular belief she's capable of correcting weaknesses in her game (according to Nick Bollerteri) .Obviously she needs to keep injuries to a minimum and that can't be predicted.
P.S. TSequoia01 is one of Venus's biggest fans who only means well. Actually, he is the one who keeps me sane when she goes through rough patches

read my post before this one.

i'm not saying v is faltering - i'm saying it seems others are suggesting she is faltering because of her loss to henin i suspect.

i luv v.

Fact is, after watching Venus since Wimbledon, I have seen so much positive change. Her lst serve has never and I mean never been better. Her second serve while it still needs work is much improved. Her forehand is winning matches and no longer losing them. Venus is starting to put her entire game together. At 27, that my friend deserves a thread.

i expect all of this from v and serena for that matter.

both of them have come back to win with very little preparation compared to the other players.

that speaks volumes. it says that with a little more play and conditioning, she will not be dominated.

watching her play since wimbledon has been a pure delight.

v is a starr.

I have to admit, I've never been a huge fan of Venus Williams tennis game, but always liked the positive attitude and energy she projects. She's very good for the game and even better at making a future for those around her and especially for people who look up to her to see how she acts. She's a lady, and behaves like one. All that said, I did notice her net skills were much better the past two weeks, and she is developing a very nice slice approach down the line that works like a charm with her reach at the net. It is nice to see the tennis getting better and she's obviously working on it.

I am one of Venus faithful fans and support her no matter what she is going through.I never lost faith that she will win big even after the FO 07.
Her game is evolving for sure there was one spectacular shot she made at net playing Justine that was never in her repertoire.I am not devasted that she lost just disappointed ,but I see that she is almost the Venus who terrorized the tour 2000-2002.She has beaten three quarters of the top ten something she couldnt do in 2006.
I think she was second best at the USA 07 but thats good enough to carry her into 2008 where she has absolutely nothing to defend till February.I think Vee will be a top five 2008.Good luck Vee we love you!

if venus stays healthy and continue to improve.what i mean by improve, she added slice to her game.and it was beautiful.on paper henin was supposed to beat her.she is the number one player.but realisticly i want to see them play again.i think venus knows first hand what to expect now.i would love to see her develop a kick serve to her second serve.oh my god she would be more on fire.but she is hungry now again and that is very good news for american tennis.

She seems to be in her best form in years. .and interestingly enough Justine is also in her best form ever and the new girls Maria, Ana, Jelena are all going to challenge for top spots.. 2008 should be very interesting :-)

Actually I think Venus played better in 2000-2002. I think she has spurts of her best play now, but Venus was more consistent and confident with her game back when she was match fit and played tennis 100%. She would go for her shots and MAKE THEM...plus her serve was poppin' bitches upside the head consistently. The girl game is still "BAD" though because she can still win grand slams. But..to me...she still isnt LETHAL Venus like she was ...ESPECIALLY the Venus Williams 2002 edition.

I respect your view point and opinion, Venus was a load in 2000-2002. But her serve percentage was lower, her speed was lower, her second serve was no where near as consistent. Venus' second serve is the best it has ever been, same with her forehand. Venus net approaches and percentages are the best its ever been. Now Venus won more but the competition was not as strong. The Venus of now would beat the Venus of 2000 easily. She won wimby and lost to a great player in Henin, but Venus is not done as i said she is getting better. Venus ain't done yet.
