When the results are going down, you have to keep the attention in another way. The men's final was probably just the start. We'll be hearing lots of rumours, denials, crying and shameful drunk moments from now on.

You rock girl!

Interesting you should say that. This was from the NYPost yesterday.

September 10, 2007 -- MARIA Sharapova soothing the agony of U.S. Open defeat with cocktails at Whiskey Blue on Lexington Avenue . . . ANDY Roddick at the first anniversary party of Tenjune telling a fan, "At least if you are going to lose, lose to a robot. I tried my hardest, but Roger Federer is that good" . . . SERENA Williams cheering herself up after being bounced from the U.S. Open by checking out the two-headed calf at the new Ripley's Believe It or Not! Times Square Odditorium.

Sharapova will have 50 plus years to party. For the next 5-10 years, she'd better get to work, and improve her serve.

No. It's like your comparing her to that other Russian.

It's about having people around you, who really have your best interest at heart. Maria's support system is behind her. The same with Williams family. They have stability and a strong sense of self.

Not all high powerful players will go down like Anna K. It was obvious that Her parents made some poor judgements regarding their daughter. Sex sells but you better have some back up. Folks who want results and not just paycheck. Paycheck comes with results.

She is 20 years old and wants to have fun. Cyndi Lauper says so.

Do people really have nothing better to do than to start these stupid threads?!

Sharapova has had some average results this year (partially because of a problem shoulder) so suddenley some idiotic things are being said about her.

If you had even watched one match of her play you would know she's a strong competitor who wants to play to win and be the best they can.

I hope not. :sobbing:.....Seriously though, I trust her when she says she's looking forward to getting up there again. But as much as she deserves to have fun at this age, it is also a siginificant period in her career and she is at an interesting age - she should really be careful esp with her relatively bad year and bad losses. Her team better make sure she keeps on the right track. At this level of competition, if you want to be on top - utmost dedication is important. This is where I really admire Justine.

Interesting you should say that. This was from the NYPost yesterday.

Lol, she isn't even legal to drink yet...unless they were virgin...and somehow, I can't picture Serena checking out a two-headed calf at Ripley's in times square.

No. She's not enough "big" to be a regular cover girl. She won't party to have 2 lines about her.

People know them.
People don't neccesarily care about them.

This is a tennis message board, and people on this board will scrutinize everything a top player does.
The rest of the world could give a fuck (in most cases).
