At school this year we're having a "movies" commission, which will happen once a week.

Problem is, we don't know what movies to watch :o

The teacher in charge told us to avoid banal movies like commedies initially, and start with something "heavier" if you know what I mean. :p

Any suggestions?

Watch Dogville. It's really good and really long so the other classes will be cancelled :)

Yep good choice :)
Also would probably be a good idea to seek out other Dogme inspired films as no doubt those types of films would spark an interesting debate for your class.

Pan's Labyrinth, IMO the best movie so far this decade. Amazing. Check that one out if you haven't.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley

About the Irish struggle for independence. It's a recent movie and absolutely brilliant. And it's heavy ;)

The scenery in this film is amazing. :hearts:

I'd also recommend Breaking The Waves, a film which draws you a whole different picture about love than the average Hollywood movie does.
