No, she had well over 7000 points back in 2004...

Justine had more than 7000 (don't remember ecxacly how much) after Indian Wells 2004, that was the record. She had 3 Grand Slams titles, 5 Tier I titles, 3 Tier II titles, plus more finals and semifinals (or something like that).

She had 7626 points after Indian Wells in 2004.

You can't compare the ranking points now with the points in 2004 because the quality points don't exist anymore.

So yes, I think Justine has te record since the start of the new ranking system.

It's the first year with new ranking system...
Even last year ranking points were different, let alone in 2005 and earlier when player got 650 round pts + quality pts for GS title.
The ranking system changed numerous times in 1980s-1990s.

I think it's nice to hold a ranking points record. And I'm sure i'm not the only one who think that.

Well no one with a bit of common sense does.

It's just as meaningless as prize money records.
