USO, for both men^s and Justine^s matches, especially Justine^s matches against the Williams. Whatever the personal feelings between them, Justine and the Sisters are the cream of the crop! Slam wins: USA-2, Belgium-2!!

US Open. We had some great matches, also on the men's side.

The USO on the women's side was a complete joke. The only good match was Henin/V Williams and to some extent Peer/Vadisova. :o

Now the mens side at the Open was the best in years. Although the semi-finals were , the rest of the matches were:worship:.

US Open. Where else you can get two of the best matches in 2007 (Jelena - Venus and Justine - Venus) in the same tournament, plus not forgetting "Black Sunday" (where all but two of the seeds were sent packing home)?

The worst for me is definately FO - we all knew who's gonna win it. But I'm happy about it anyway ;)

All were blowouts except Wimbledon, which had some competetive play in the first set, even though the score suggested an easy win.

The final at this year's US Open was really Venus/Justine. There were many brilliant pionts in the match, with Justine having more and thus the win.

That being said, I pick Serena's win over Maria, because NO ONE expected her to have a chance. I did not even think she could win the final.

Then us Serena fans were treated to one of those "in the zone" games that Serena sometimes provides. She has about a dozen of these to her credit, but we never know when they will occur.

exactly! so much drama in Sharapova-Radwanska for example!
also matches like Serena-Vera and the Pasczek and Szavay wins were good to watch! Of course there has been much better slams in the past but in 07 this is the best!

I think overall Wimbledon was the best. My favourite match of the year in Jankovic/Safarova, the cinderella nature of Bartoli's run, pure drama in the Serena/Dani match, Venus's sublime second week, it had the most competitive final, the most compelling semifinal, the best standard of play across the board in the quarter finals and some unforgettable last 16s.

US Open was a total bust in the bottom half, Henin and Serena had nothing to do before the 1/4, Venus/Ana was a let-down - there were two great matches : Venus/JJ for drama, Venus/Henin for standard of play. I've heard good things about Peer/Vaidisova but we didn't get that here and it still doesn't make up for all the rest that was lacking.

French had a total bust final, funny semi with Sharapova getting her ass handed to her but really from the QF-stage onwards it was all pretty one-sided. Aussie I saw less of because of the time difference so don't want to comment too much but I do think it was better than the US Open.

Chak v Krajicek was also a very entertaining match I thought, as was Ivanovic v Vaidisova. And despite the rain there were some great matches on the men's side too - a fantastic final, Roddick v Gasquet, Djokovic v Baghdatis...

Every single one of them sucked, in total the most the runner up won in games was 5, there were a couple good matches at each but none that were like mind boggling tennis, this is the worst year for slams by far in my mind.

Wimbledon:
Despite the awful weather I watched some real crackers on the outside courts early on. Patty saving match points against Pin in the 1st round comes to mind. The women were topping the men in the drama stakes throughout the championships. Entertaining 3-set matches all the way through.

wimbledon... the matches were much more competitive... including the final.... Bartoli was the only finalist this year that didnt win who actually brought it to venus. the scoreline was decieving.... All the others fell apart... (except maybe Sharapova, she just got demolished....)

Hmm...I think this year;s Wimbledon will be the most difficult to forget. The way Marion played the No.1 in the world, that's so admirable. Just the whole run of Marion..
Then USO is close behind.

The rest...huh..Petrova could have made it interesting, so could Camille  (AO)
RG lacked drama..except Sharapova-Schnyder-the match lacked good tennis though

The USO by a long shot !

It gathers all the best elements at their best of the season with Venus and Bartoli going on a rise for the last 2 months and a possible Venus-Henin that was long awaited.

It was bond to add the drama athmosphere, the suspens in the most compact 'death group' I have seen from years.

You couldn't tell who was gonna come alive from that war with too many tough contestants at the top half. The fact that some didn't live to the hype is a slight disadvantage but the matches between Henin, the Williamses, Yankovic and to a lesser extent Ivanovic and Bartoli where thrilly anticipated.

It produced one of the most entertaining matches (Venus-Jankovic, Henin-Venus, Henin-Serena) and the drama and controversy post match just add that special electric athmosphere that makes the all thing anything but dull.

RG was the worst of all by far, so predictable, no good match at all after the Sharapova-Schnyder, really terrible... The best to me was AO, with some really exciting quarterfinals (more dramatic than high quality, but still really nice matches) and Clijsters' farewell in the semis... I also loved Wimbledon (HUGE surprise in the semis), and Henin's perfect game in USO was of course very impressive, along with the Venus-Jankovic classic. RG was really the worst of all.

1. AO
2. Wimbledon
3. USO
4. RG

As for the men's side... AO #1 for Federer's perfect game, Wimbledon and US Open come equal as second for the classic Wimbledon final and all the thrilling matches during the USO, and RG lastly because of the lack of good matches, and a huge disappointment in the end for me:sad:

1. AO (Federer at his best)
2. Wimbledon (the final was an awesome classic)
2. US Open (thrilling matches all the time)
4. RG

Tough actually, but I thought the Australian was the most exciting and compelling. Watching Serena claw her way through the draw was really magical, I thought. And it was also Maria's best Slam result (even though I would call the FO semis a bigger accomplishment for her).
If I would have been home for Wimbledon, I think that one would have been my pick, but since I hardly saw any matches, it's the AO.
The USO had good matches.
The FO sucked hard.

Australian Open, by far. Tracking Serena's win was amazing. I thought Sharapova was going to dispatch her handily in straights. She proved me completely wrong. Overall in terms of matches, I'd go with Wimbledon because the matches on the mens and womens side were the best of quality this year.
