With the completion of the US Open today, here are the winners...

AO - Serena
FO - Justine
Wimby - Venus
USO - Justine

Who do you think is most likely to fail in their title defence?

I think that both Venus and Serena will have a hard time definding their titles. Serena is so hard to rate level wise coz one tournament she stinks the next she rocks! Venus got a little lucky this year playing against bartoli in the final... so...!

Serena and Venus

I think if venus stays healthy, she'll be better than 00 and 01 and she will win AO, FO and Wimbly. Not quite the Grand Slam but it's possible. Come on Venus. I have a really good feeling about next year.

So i think ony venus will defend her wimbly. Serena might win USO if she's fit by then.

I think the safest thing to say is Justine defends RG other than that any of these three could trade the remaining GS.

I voted for all of them besides Justine in RG. As much as I am a fan of the WS they are not consistent and getting injured a lot so I don't see both of them reclaming the slam titles from this year. Plus, somehow I have a feeling that Justine won't be having another USO title next year, I was positive Maria woud have won it after last year tournament, and Justine is looking a big contender for every title next year but the pattern will continue since 2001 and the defending champ won't win it.

another pattern also was for the last 9 years the no. 1 seed did not win USO, but this time, Juju did..she broke that pattern...so we'll see...

I'd favor Justine to get past Serena at the Aussie Open.

Further ahead is hard to say. Justine will likely defend RG. Venus is tough to take down at Wimbledon (but I'd like to see Justine add this elusive title to her trophy cabinet). US Open, who knows? It's too far away to say.

I think Venus at Wimbledon and Justine at Roland Garros are the solid choices for who WILL defend. They are just in a class of their own on their surface. Serena at the Australian looks the least likely. Especially if she doesn't play and commit herself to tennis this Fall.

Outside of Roland Garros (Justine, if she's healthy, is a lock for the title), the three other slams are up in the air. Venus, if she's healthy could defend Wimbledon. Australia and the US Open are up in the air though.

I voted for all except Justine at RG. If Venus plays Wimbledon healthy she should win it, she's the best on grass by a long way, but it's too hard to tell with the WS these days. :o

WHAT!! She beat Sharapova, who's good on grass easily, Kuznetsova, who she lost to the last 2 times they played before this match, in straight sets and Ivanovic, who had a good spring. That's not luck, that shows she is good on grass and can defend next year.

I voted for Serena, she has played bad and I don't think she can defend.

I think Venus and Justine will defend their Wimbledon and Roland Garros titles, respectively. Justine could very well win again at the USO next year. Based on the hardcourt game she's shown this year, there is no reason to vote against here. However, I think one of the younger players (Ivanovic, Jankovic) or one of the Williams sisters will take the title next year. Serena seems the least likely to defend her title, as she hasn't been playing that well. I hope she can prove me wrong and come to AO 08 in top shape, however.

Australian- Unless Serena uses this bad period as a stepping stone to something better then she won't do it.

French- Unless Ivanovic gets over her nerves then she'll win it again...

Wimbledon- The only thing that irritates me about Venus is that you can never tell what she'll do. That's why I didn't understand why Venus fans were so confident. If she is healthy by that time, in good spirits and believes in herself then she can do it.

America- I think it's whoever gets there and is good and healthy.

I have a feeling Venus will finally be holding the Austrailian Title... So i voted for serena not to defend.....

Next to lose their title is Justine. I think Serena will have her act together by this time next year and will win the US open.....

Then I think Jankovic will use her match against Venus here at the US as a confidence builder and will take the FO title from Justine. However.... if Jankovic doesnt beat Henin then i dont see anyone else beating her there...

If Healthy Venus should defend Wimbledon easily.....
