Is it taken home by the winner and it's a new trophy next year or does the winner become a trophy minature and the "main trophy" come back into the tournament? And what's with the names, that are engraved on this trophy? Is there a limited place for it, or are there all names of the tournament winners?

I think that the main trophy stays at the tournament (and names engraved on it) and the winner gets a smaller replicate of it

The players get a miniature replica of the original trophy. The original trophy meanwhile stays in the tournament.

That's what I know.

Navratilova even won it six times in a row ('82-'87).
Graf also won three time in a row ('91 to '93)

I think I remember the comment that you'd be referring too. Are you talking about when one of the commentators said during this years Mens Final at Wimbledon 'That man should take off with the big trophy if he wins it tonight'

I remember Venus saying "Do I have to give it back now?" when she was gathering her things to go to the locker room.

well it did happen in Antwerp didn't it? Amélie :hearts:

If there was such a rule, it would be valid for both men and women right? Federer has won it 3 times in a row already and they haven't changed the trophy, so I suppose that it's not happening.

I've seen Lindsay's and Justine's trophies on tv and they're really small replica's... even the runner up plates are bigger than the winners trophies...
