I didn't expect Daniela to play doubles at this tournament. But I have no objections, after all Davenport is an excellent doubles player so why not.

7 grand slam doubles titles between them, looks a good pairing. That Lindsay & Lisa pushed Black & Huber so close in New Haven is an encouraging sign and Dani's record is solid this year (3 quarters and 2 semis out of 9 tournaments with 3 walkover losses, 3 Black & Huber losses and 3 other losses) - if they stay fit they should do very well together.

I was surprised to see Lindsay's in the doubles draw but Danni is a good choice of partner for her they should do well.

Did Lindsay decide this after commentating on Daniela's win in IW? :p

Hopefully Lindsay and Daniella will mainly just have to serve for most points.

Probably, Linds was raving about Daniela that day.

Dani's been getting some high profile partners lately. Lucky girl.

She should be honored to be playing with Lindsay. Good luck ladies.

I'm not surprised to see Lindsay playing doubles, she needs the matches and Daniela is a top doubles player. If they both are playing well, they could win this title.

Good luck! :D

You sound like she has been sucking in doubles recently which in fact isn't exactly true. Stop hating on her please, it's growing tiresome.

grow up.

Well, she is in a slump, even if I hate to admit it.

The thing is though, she's by far the best doubles player in the draw, and one of the best in singles too. Lindsay would be stupid to choose anyone else over her.

i really think slumping is too big a word
it's for the 1st time in ages she lost in the 1st round of a gs
and is still #12
so it's not a slump

It depends on what you call a slump I suppose. I define it as a decline in usual form. Nothing major, but she hasn't played her absolute top tennis recently.
