Henin has the greatest one handed backhand in the open era. I have never seen a woman player with a more effective and lethal one handed backhand.

Agree that Henin's one handed backhand is the best in the Open era. I believe that Graf had the same potential. She used the slice too often. Had she not stepped around to blast that forehand so much, perhaps she would have had the preparation to hit the topspin backhand more. Especially against Navratilova, the topspin backhand would have been a weapon on the passing shot.

Henin needs to still prove herself against better competition to be considered among the best ever. Good effort defeating both Williams sisters but Serena was terrible in their match-off balance, wild shotsw, terrible movement. Still not the kind of competition that King, Evert, Navratilova, Graf, Seles and Capriati faced!

 I remembered the 99 FO Final. The crowd gasped and murmured when Graf hit two topspin backhands in a row.

What's ironic is that her forehand was the outstanding shot in this US Open.

It's pretty amazing to think how much she has improved in those last 5 years. If her forehand stays as good as it has been, it might become the best forehand on tour.
