Is women's tennis now going in an upward trend? Thanks for any responses

What kind of upward trend?
Popularity?
I actually think women's tennis was more popular during the late 90s early 00s - the Hingis, Kournikova, Williams Sisters, Davenport years.
Oh and I'm only speaking about the United States, it's probably grown in popularity elsewhere in the world.

upward as in quality matches? again i think we have to go into the late 90's early 00's for that as well. so. in response to you NO.. lol

the last two matches involving Venus have been quality but the US open as a whole was a let down....

What kind of upward trend?
I was going to ask the same thing, and based on what exactly? Picking it up from bad times?

I think womenís tennis is going on an upward trend. For example, Kournikova did good things for popularity and quality of European/Russian players.

I think itís been a good US Open as usual, so many new faces on show, now experience has come to #1 seed versus #4 seed in the end.

the us open semifinal between venus and justine was how good the WTA is
the us open semifinal between anna and sveta was how bad the WTA is
i shudder to think what will happen in the final

Tje draw was the let down in this years open. The top draw was a slam draw, the other a tier 2 draw.

Thank you for saying it so eloquently. It's true.
