View Full Version : Of Course...both Sisters Were Not Hundred Percent Thats Why They Lost

From what Venus said in her post match press conference, it seems that she was ill and thats why she lost, and of course we all know about how badly injured Serena was which enabled Justine to eek a few lucky shots over the net. The Williams sisters are totally bizarre...why can't they just be honest and give credit to their opponents for being better than them on the day. Its a very unattractive trait in fact its bordering on delusional. I.m surprised that they have any fans at all with this odd behaviour.

venus looked very tired on the court anyway even before she got the trainer out the commentator was like she looks very fatigue and tired, and serena didnt say she was injured

Serenas father said she was very injured and shouldn't have played the open. Injured/ill or not they should just say whoever played better on the day. Venus would of won if she wasn't ill - I mean its almost like saying I would of won if I'd played better..

OMG get over it! I do like the Williams sisters but this is just incredible... NO ONE is at 100%!! It's not like everyone's playing out of their minds or anything... people have ups and downs but they try their best and don't make excuses.... Justine was the better player. Period

it's funny how Venus saying that she was tired (wich even Stevie Wonder could see) is her giving an excuse and when Henin basicly said the samething when she lost to Bartoli it's not an excuse from her as well no it's just the pure truth...

bias much?!

 Aww, can't blame a hater for trying. But this is a poor effort. Especially since most literate posters have at least glanced at her Interview which has been posted and know this this post belongs in a sewer.

Better luck next time :D

Who gives a shit if they're 100% or not? Venus won 2 majors in over 6 years. She's never a favorite to beat Justine.
Serena is Justine's bitch, and a classless fool.

Oh, lordy. I'm sure she was pregnant too, and her dog ate her match notes, and she and Serena never got to talk to each other about how to beat Henin, and she got up on the wrong side of the bed, and she was only playing at .0003 on a 1-10 scale, and Henin was incredibly lucky, and she was playing in front of a totally hostile crowd all of whom were pulling for the other player, and a bunch of other stuff that was completely unfair and racist.

Poor willums gals...sniff...

One thing I know for sure: If Venus wake up on the right leg, she can play too.

After that 1st set, of course Venus was exhausted : so was Justine. I mean, which player wouldn't be ? So if she didn't chase the balls like in the first set, Justine might be for something.

In summary:

The boards have had a few extra days to work on excuses for Serena, which are enumerated below in no particular order.

1. Serena lost on purpose to clear the way for Venus to win the 2007 USO.

2. Serena lost on purpose to get an early start on preparations for the 2008 AO.

3. After reviewing the vid of her Wimbledon 2007 fall, Serena noticed that she fell on her right hand! She has been getting physical therapy on the wrong thumb all this time!!! When her right thumb heals ...

4. Seren's sea food diet have left her diarhetic, weak and slow.

5. Serena is pregnant.

6. At some point in time, sooner rather than later, Richard will provide a partial list of Serena's undisclosed maladies, pestilences and infestations that most directly contributed to her loss.

7. The draw was specifically rigged to exhaust Serena prior to the match with Justine.

8. As Serena said, Justine "just made a lot of lucky shots".

9. Serena spent all her preparation time working on strategies, tactics and gimmicks to beat Sharapova, she forgot about other players and styles. Sort of like Roddick against Federer.

10. Serena played at only 7.25% of capability. At anything over 7.5%, Serena would have won.

Many of these apply to Venus, too, but not all of them. Venus has already implicated mysterious illnesses she knows nothing about, but that plagued her throughout the tournament, causing actual physical distress during the first week and dizzyness during the Henin match. More detail is expected soon.

The fact of the matter is that it is extremely rare to find any two players at their one hundred percent "best". Tennis is not about being one hundred percent, but it's about trying to get there and trying to win. It is also very hard for any human being to be at their physical "best" on every day, especially if you're playing in very humid, hot conditions in an extremely tense match-up between the two best players in tennis.

So, no. I don't think Venus was at her physical, mental, psychological, emotional, etc. "best". But, I don't think Justine was either. And Mother Nature wasn't either.

I actually thought Venus was quite gracious in her interview. I don't even need to comment on Serena's.

Its a very unattractive trait in fact its bordering on delusional.

Speaking of traits bordering on delusional, perhaps you could post the post-match interview where Venus didn't give credit to Henin for the win.

Venus did give Justine plenty of credit. But if she wasnt feeling well, she should be honest about that too. She certainly didnt look well in the last few games.

JUstine is #1 for a reason, currently she is #1.. Venus and Serena for the most part don't have to be their best to beat anybody else, but apparently they have to play extrememly well against henin.. Henin has improved so much in the last 4 years... Players learn most from losses and so for the Williams, they can learn from what they did wrong. As disappointed as I am that the Williams lost, it's not the end of the world.

* by the way, nice women's final huh? BORING

You know I wasn't totally bothered by the Williams sad excuses when they lose....

HOWEVER, I was totally pissed when the media brought it to the attention of Justine, and put her on the defensive. They discredit Justine's effort and her game by saying "oh I was injured that's why I lost" leaving Justine to have to defend herself with her win. That's just not cool. Justine did good to say "I have no more comment on that." Very classy of her.

Justine is the best this week... that's all...

Sure, when Justine beats one of the Williams's, she is the best player "of the week"; when either of them beats Justine, they are the best player ever  .

For 81 weeks officially world's best player and still counting .... (little detail: more than both sisters combined)

Williams sisters best players in the world?
Justine, player out of this world.
