with the way that she bullied Henin around the court 90% of the time. Henin did the typical strategy against Venus (hit the ball down the middle and get the ball back) but if Venus plays a cleaner match then she definatley's got this one in the bag.

Really, supergrunt? Because I'm fairly certain Justine won.

And Henin hit some dominating forehand winners. Venus couldn't handle a lot of them.

Venus has gone more than 6 years with only 2 majors. Both Williams sisters have been inferior players during the Henin era.

Henin played great and Venus did her best but simply wasn't good enough to win. There was no way that Venus proved that she was the better player today. In all honesty, Justine could have cleaned her up a lot quicker if she didn;t get tight at the wrong moments

Please take a 4 months vacation.
You'll be back stronger than ever for the Australian Open, just like Venus and Serena.

By "did her best", I hope you mean TRIED her best, and not played her best.

Note: This is not taking anything away from Henin's win. She's an amazing player and deserved to win.

No, he did mean play her best. Justine is too good. If Justine plays her best tennis, she beats both Williams sisters on any surface but grass. She has too many weapons in her arsenal. All the sisters can do is hit really freakin hard. They don't absorb pace as well and they can't hit defensive shots consistently.

if Justine don't get tight, she spank Venus ass 63 63. This match was pretty much ownage, Venus movement not good enough

I mean I accept what other people think, as long as it's not bullshit. Venus? Dominating 90% of the play against Henin?

Both sisters threw the kitchen sink at Henin.

On the day it wasn't good enough to beat the world no. 1.

And I detected from Venus's body language in the second set - she knew it.

yeah but the Venus of 2003 is still stronger than the 2007 version
I mean her serve wasn't that great but I saw some brilliance in rallies which remind me the Venus of 2003 she's definitely on the way to the top again

Yeah, the thread starter is amazing.
I mean, Justine totally dominated the match, and if she didn't choke at some points, she would have beaten Venus quite easily.

For the record, Venus is the tall one with the great legs. Henin is the shorter of the two, the one wearing the red outfit. Just thought I'd clear that up since you seem to have the two mixed up.

But I suspect that Supergrunt and most of other so called trolls and tards are not as stupid as they seems to be. I think they are smart and good people and they are trying to help this forum. Think about it... They are posting lot of stupid/ controversial threads/posts. They know : stupid thread will collect lot of replies = lot of clicks = more popular forum = more money to forum. They are doing a good thing here. Plus, they probably have lot of fun to read dead-serious responses to their posts.

good for you, for Justine didn't play her best neither: making tactical mistakes quite some times, imo, and an off-backhand for the larger part of the match. But I guess you can't help yourself for not knowing Justine that well since she's not been broadcasted that much in the US. I am getting tired of the self-centered viewpoint of Williams' fans: "they didn't play their best". Well, guess what, Justine didn't either and still beat them both.
As for supergrunt's statement, too stupid & provocative to go into.

Nothing self-centered about it, just making sure whoever said that was saying that she tried her best. I mean, hitting serves in the 70's, come on now!

And I'm sure Justine didn't play her best either. Rarely do players ever play their absolute best game out there, this is tennis after all. As fans, especially of mathch-ups like this, all we can hope for is that they're both somewhere around their best.

Okay and thanks for your reply. But it seemed to me you where right on the defensive for Williams by making sure everyone would understand Justine didn't beat Venus on her best, without showing any awareness Justine equally so didn't play her best. (Of course at certain times she did! and overall she played very well, just like Venus did!) But then again, why do Williams' fans always have to add they didn't play their best, particularly when you are stating no player is capable of doing so constantly (with which I agree of course)? Isn't that a diminishing of Justine's win? To me it is. Btw, don't mistake Venus' forced errors for unforced errors.

I seem to recall your signature saying that Serena was the best when she was playing her best not too long ago...Anyway, if Venus could've gotten a first serve in yesterday the match would have looked much different. As for Serena, she needs to get in mouch better shape if she wants to compete with Venus and Henin.
