Some problems I came across when creating a stats file including players' points in 2007:

1. Michaella Krajicek
She has 694.00 in the Race to the Championships (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/rankings/race/singles.asp) so far.
In her playing activity (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/PlayerActivity.asp?PlayerID=311578) she does have 695.00. I think it has sth. to do with her performance in Rome, but I'm not sure.

2. Olga Savchuk
She has 261.00 in the Race to the Championships (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/rankings/race/singles.asp) so far.
In her playing activity (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/PlayerActivity.asp?PlayerID=310816) she does have 265.00. There's something wrong with Budapest probably.

3. Anastasia Rodionova
She has 240.00 in the Race to the Championships (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/rankings/race/singles.asp) so far.
In her playing activity (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/PlayerActivity.asp?PlayerID=180356) she does have 250.00. Indian Wells could be the reason.

4. Yuliana Fedak
She has 220.00 in the Race to the Championships (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/rankings/race/singles.asp) so far.
In her playing activity (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/PlayerActivity.asp?PlayerID=60301) she does have 230.00. Again Rome?

5. Andreja Klepac
She has 210.00 in the Race to the Championships (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/rankings/race/singles.asp) so far.
In her playing activity (http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/PlayerActivity.asp?PlayerID=312041) she does have 209.00. Quite sure on this one: Bangalore. For some weird reasons she had a bye after her first qualifying match. Afterwards she lost her final qualifying match. In the ranking it's seen as 4 points, means winning in 2nd qualifying round, in the points overview it's 3 points and she is considered to have lost in the bye round. In case of withdrawal it would have been clear. But as it seems to have been clear right from the beginning that there will be a bye in QR2, I'm not sure on this one? Which one is right?

Referring back to 1-4 the only thing which comes to my mind is the following:
All of them lost in the final qualifying round, but won their first match in main draw. So they receive the points from main draw, but lose all their qualifying point(s). (They would not have lost them by losing in main draw R1.) However, they list those qualifying points in the profiles, but not in the Race. I still couldn't find sth. like that in the rulebook (p.183 and following). Actually, in addition, this theory does not make much sense..

Come on, experts on statistics! Please help me with these questions :)

Lucky losers who make the second round of the main draw lose their qualifying points. Anastassia Rodionova lost 10 points thus in Indian Wells. Olga Savchuk 4 in Budapest indeed. Yuliana Fedak 10 in Rome.

The others seem to be for a different reason. Still checking.

Krajicek is a combination of the aforementioned rule and the bye she got in the qualies. She only got 1 point in the qualies and lost that by passing into the 2nd round of the MD. She thus only got the 35 points from the MD and 0 from the qualies.

Thank you.
So it's probably the same with Savchuk and Fedak. Very weird rule, I really cannot see any sense in taking away those points. And in addition, I wonder why they list those qualifying points still in the players tournaments overview, but don't list points of qualifiers.

You're welcome.
The player overview on wtatour is a mess regarding the points. That's why I made my own, like you.
Klepac is a strange one. She did receive four points which was the normal result for a defeat in the third round of the qualies in Bangalore. But, as she got a bye in the second round, her points should have defaulted back to the second round, and hence only 3 points. Still, she got 4. It's either a mistake from the WTA or an exception to an exception to an exception to the rules.
