Venus will not win the '07 US Open BUT she certainly is now coming to net. She came in 55 times against Jankovic & 35 times against Justine. This was never the case with the old Venus. This excites me - especially seeing her do it aginst the top players. The more she perfect it, the better her game will become. I just hope she doesn't get discouraged by the loss. I doubt she will.

I'm proud of Venus - I don't know what at this point can reduce the 35 errors she made today. But I'd rather her play her game - aggressive & attacking - than anything else.

VENUS - YOU'RE ON YOUR WAY BACK!!!

Yes, that was good. Venus was smart to come to net because she knew Henin can't always hit those passing shots and she could end the point quickly and save energy. :yeah:

maybe it will be a new trend to come to the net! Not holding my breath though! As for Venus "on her way back", I think she has been back since Wimby!

If Venus can stay healthy this Fall and plays more this year and next year, Venus will do better in the majors. Her ranking can only go up from here! Venus needs to implement another game plan and more tactics against the top players. She can dominate players in the early rounds, but when it comes to Justine, she needs to impose her game and move into net most of the time. She can do it, as long as she works on her serves.
