Will Sveta pull a Capriati?

Of course she can. She has beaten Henin recently and she has no pressure and plenty of weapons to knock of JH. I mean, Juju is so tired right now. And the final is tomorrow! Can juju rest up by then.....hell no. Sveta will win tomorrow in straight sets, but maybe she could use 3 sets to defeat Justine if she's nervous

well, Henin is playing better than Hingis at that time, so i guess no...

Justine is the best player in the world, but she had breathing problems today.
And she went thru a much tougher draw than Sveta. Much more work, mental effort. Sveta has a chance.
Justine is POY no matter what happens tomorrow.

Of course she can. Justine lost to Bartoli after beating Serena, because she was tired physically and mentally. Imagine how tired she is now. Let's hope she's learned from her loss to Bartoli and doesn't crumble against Sveta. Sveta certainly has the weapons to beat Justine and isn't afraid of her.

I doubt Sveta will...but I hope so.

I think she needs a miracle. Or Henin to get injured.

Sorry, but Hingis didn't own Capriati like Justine does Sveta. Plus, Hingis choked that match away if memory serves me right.

Hingis got killed by the heat.

Your memory serves you wrongly. Capriati was ahead almost from the get go. Secondly, Capriati hadn't ever beaten Hingis on the WTA Tour (only once in an exhibtion) before winning that match.

But I do think you're right that Henin has a bigger advantage over Sveta than Hingis did over Capriati. Kuznetsova is an ugly, erratic player with no great fluidity, tactical nouse, nor mental astuteness; Capriati was a champion lying dormant.

Hingis had a 5-0 H2H lead before that loss

I think Sveta has a shot, Justine can sometimes come out flat after big/exhausting wins, she was flat in last year's final, Sveta needs to go for broke, but Justine is a massive fave no doubt...

Sorry I was thinking of the 02 match. Hingis choked that one away.

Weren't you the one claiming Venus would destroy Justine?

I guess we know how much your predictions are worth.

the difference in the Capriati situation, is practically that Jenn came out of nowhere to win and was playing unbelievable tennis. Sveta won't be a surprise because she is the former US open champ. Plus, I think that Svetabeating JuJu recently was a blessing "kind of not goingg to surprise Henin" kind of thing. Sort of like with Djokovic and Federer, shouldthey meet.
