Not that I'm completely over yesterday's defeat, but it's always good to stay positive and looking forward.
We know our girl is great and she will be back with better results!!!
Please Ana, win Luxembourg for me. That will be a great week!

I'd love to see Ana win Luxembourg and Zurich, and then challenge for the YEC. She'll probably be out of the Top 5 after the USO, but she can easily bounce back in.

Anna needs to reach the SF. So she has to beat Paszek and Peer.
Serena can overtake her as well, but then she needs to win it.
If you look at the form of Henin and Venus, it's not likely that it will happen.
Ana is seeded first for now in Luxembourg. Only Anna can change that.

Anyway, I try to support her more than before. She just has to win it since I have tickets till the final. I can't hardly enjoy it when she's not in it.

Ok. The new rankings became official today. As many know, Ana dropped out of the Top 5 to No. 6. Chakvetadze has taken her place. This is unacceptable. I hope Ana meets Chak in the Luxembourg final and takes it to her in champion-like fashion. I wouldn't mind Chakvetadze going out earlier (more ranking points), but I'd like to see Ana prove just who is the real Top 5 player in a Serbian-Russian final.

If Ana - Anna will be the final in Luxembourg, then Ana has to win to overtake her. If Ana loses then it will be 3095 vs 3085 in Anna's advantage.

Ana, do it for yourself and do it for me. Just win the whole damn thing!

I'm sure she's very motivated and hopefully she will play well.
Everytime that I attended a tournament, she played bad. Time for the change.
I've already bought tickets for Wednesday-Sunday. I'm going with a friend, so probably I will watch the final anyway.
In Rosmalen I didn't go to the final, so I've wasted some money.

I wish I could have seen her play at the USO (I was only able to go to the SF+F), but at least I got to sit in the Serbian section for Novak's SF match. It was an amazing atmosphere.

HERE'S my question:Is Ana another soft-hearted,gorgeous beauty, like Sabatini, who only DREAMS about being number 1---or is she willing to make the EFFORT to do it?Davenport and Masha have proven that hard-hitting big girls don't need to be roadrunners to have consistent success, but the footwork must be AT LEAST good enough so that it's not a huge weakness against top players.

It looks like our girl's only major threat comes from 'Chalk'...aNa used to dominate aNNa but that has turned around in their recent encounters. The Russkie can be a real human backboard in returning shots and that MIGHT frustrate Ana.She:hearts: should at least reach the final.

The major threat is which Ana will show up. No disrespect to Chakvetadze, but Ana in any form resembling the Jankovic matches blows Anna C. away. IMO JJ (I know, she isnt in draw) is most dangerous opponent but for some reason Ana is at her best vs her.

'Hi guys. Ana started the match badly with not so many winners and simple errors. She raised her level up when it was needed. In the 2nd set she started poorly again and then she took the injury timeout (at 0-3). It took quite long and there was lots of talk around, but hard to tell how bad the injury was as she as usual isn't showing it at all.'

I didn't think I would have time for internet now, so that's why I left a message to Maciek. Thanks for posting.

I see that the injury isn't mentioned anywhere.
I try to say more about it now.
She was asking for the trainer when she was 3-0 down.
Ana explained it was her foot. If it wasn't so serious then you should think there's nothing much to talk about and the trainer knows what to do.
I guess Ana's foot was taped. After that she tried to stand up but still it didn't look that good. More tape I guess after that.
It was not clear to see for me cause I was looking at her back.
Maybe I just worry about nothing, but it just took too long to convinced that it's nothing.

Another thing. When you're on centre court and you look above then you can see the room for the players.
When I was watching Golovin - Cirstea, I was looking at that side and then I saw Ana sitting there.
Maciek: You wanted an update for that match, but I lost some focus when I just saw Ana there. I took some pics and I just had to look in her direction more than I actually wanted. Sorry, but I can't help it.
Yesterday it was the same. So strange that Ana can distract me so much.
Today she's playing last. Good thing is that I can't be sad till that match, but the stadium will be totally full.
Crazy how many people run down to her when she made the MP against Kremer. I didn't need an autograph but tried to ask about the injury. With so many people it's very difficult of course.
Hopefully I can find something out about it today. If so, then I'll let Maciek know of course.

Actually this is also my vacation, but with Ana on my mind all the time it's hard to called it like that.
I went already crazy when she was down 5-2. I thought: she always plays bad when I'm there.
Maybe I should not watch the match tonight. I'm really afraid Ana will lose now, but IF she wins today then I also see her winning the tournament. So tonight's match is really important.
Of course I will support her as much as I can. Match is on eurosport so maybe you can see me there ;)

Also I can say is:

Ivanovic Becomes Fourth to Qualify for Season-Ender

http://i21.tinypic.com/2agjngw.jpg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, USA – Ana Ivanovic is the fourth player to qualify for the singles event at the Sony Ericsson Championships, set to take place in the Recinto Ferial Casa De Campo, November 6-11. By reaching the semis of the FORTIS Championships in Luxembourg, Ivanovoic has assured herself of a berth in Madrid with 2972 points on the Race to the Sony Ericsson Championships Singles Standings, behind Justine Henin, Jelena Jankovic and Svetlana Kuznetsova.

"I'm delighted," said Ivanovic, who will be making her first appearance at the season-ending event. "At the start of the season I made this my No.1 goal, so to achieve it is very satisfying. As a professional tennis player, I train for the opportunity to play against the top players, and in Madrid we should have all of the world's best players there. It's going to be a very exciting tournament and a new experience for me. I am also looking forward to spending some time in Madrid, because I love Spain."

"Ana Ivanovic has been the breakthough star of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in 2007, winning her third and fourth singles titles at the Qatar Telecom German Open and JP Morgan Chase Open in Los Angeles as well as her captivating runs to the final of the French Open and the semifinals of Wimbledon," said Sony Ericsson WTA Tour CEO & Chairman Larry Scott. "It is a major milestone in any young player's career when they qualify for the first time as one of the sport's elite for the Sony Ericsson Championships and it is a reward for the impressive season she has put together to date. Ana has shown herself to be very endearing and popular among the fans wherever she plays, and her inclusion in what is an already stellar field adds another dimension to our year-end finale."

"The race to qualify for the Sony Ericsson Championships is continuing to really heat up and it is fitting to see a player like Ana Ivanovic, who has had a fantastic year, winning her third and fourth singles titles, be the next player to qualify," said Dee Dutta, CVP and Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson. "The Sony Ericsson Championships is all about being the very best; it is a week not to be missed and should be placed firmly on everyone's calendar."

"Ana has been a great discovery this year," commented Tournament Director and Spanish tennis legend Manolo Santana. "She has had an excellent season and has risen as a very popular player, new blood for the Tour! Fans in Madrid will enjoy watching her compete in her first ever Championships. It will be interesting to see how she deals with the pressure."

Ivanovic won her most prestigious title to date at the Qatar Telecom German Open in May, defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova in a third set tie-break; she followed that up by defeating Maria Sharapova to become the first Serb to reach a Grand Slam singles final, at Roland Garros in Paris. Four weeks later, she defeated two more Top 10 players on the way to her first semifinal at Wimbledon, saving match points to defeat Nicole Vaidisova in the quarterfinals before falling to Venus Williams in the last four. During the summer, she claimed a further title in Los Angeles, saving match points against compatriot Jelena Jankovic in a thrilling semifinal encounter. Venus Williams halted her run in the last 16 of the US Open. During that three month stretch, she improved her singles ranking from No.16 before Berlin to No.4 following Los Angeles. So far this year she has amassed over $1.5 million to take her career earnings in excess of $2.7 million.

The Sony Ericsson Championships is the richest annual women's sporting event in the world. The tournament is the year-ending punctuation to an 11-month global Tour which finally gathers the Top 8 singles players and Top 4 doubles teams from the season to battle it out for a share of the $3-million prize purse. Since its inception in 1972, the event has been held in such notable venues as Madison Square Garden, New York, the Olympiahalle in Munich and The Forum and Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Former singles champions include Tracy Austin, Kim Clijsters, Chris Evert, Evonne Goolagong, Steffi Graf, Martina Hingis, Martina Navratilova, Gabriela Sabatini and Serena Williams. The reigning champions are Henin (singles) and Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur (doubles).:bounce:

I just came home now and I think you can guess how I feel.
It can't be greater than to see Ana win like this.
She started really well and that's mostly important for her.
It's so awesome to experience this. Finally qualified for Madrid and also beating Golovin in a nice way.
As you know I was afraid about today, but Ana really proved me wrong.
Hard to describe the happiness. I'm so glad I can be here. You can see I made some pics. I try to do that tomorrow as well.
So great to be an Ana fan. What's actually more left to say?
She totally rocks and I'm really happy for her.
Number 5 in the world again and now I can see her in the semi final.
Really guys, this is awesome and I don't know what else to say.
Hopefully I can say some things to her tomorrow but that will be very difficult. Just to show how happy I am for her. She deserves this and I'm glad I could see it with my own eyes.
If this message doesn't show my joy then I don't know a better way to explain. If she lost then I would be pretty down, but now I'm totally in heaven.

AJDE ANA!!!!!!!!! :rocker2: :rocker2: :rocker2:

Hi guys, just came home.
Again Ana was good from the start which is mostly enough for the win already. I was kinda worried after 3-3 and 4-4 that she will get broken.
After the 6-4 it couldn't go wrong. Just another good performance of Ana and she made it to the final now!
Before I was attending tournaments, Ana never played Daniela. Now I can watch them play for the 2nd time.
I felt really horrible after Rosmalen, so better win this time Ana.
I don't have good places for semi and final, so the pics aren't that good now. More chances tomorrow. Hopefully I can film it when she has the trophy in her hands and make some nice pics.
Too bad that I couldn't get close at all today and that's something that's bothering. I really hope I can get close in the final, if she wins of course. So awesome to see her happy.
This is mostly how it goes with Ana. Once she has her rhtym it's hard to stop her.
Daniela played nice today, so I'm still not sure about tomorrow.
As long as I doubt about her, she's winning ;)
Of course this week is already great for me, but tomorrow is the last big thing.
Please Ana, win this for me! My hands mostly hurts when I'm done supporting her. Tomorrow for the last time!!

I just got home after a day I won't forget of course.
Emotional it was a very heavy day. I can't describe it with words.
I heard that there was not much to see of the crowd on tv.

That girl is really strong and she show why she deserves the title.

I was worried for a Toronto like match, but for no reason bcuz Ana is on fire!!
During the past 36 matches(31-5!) she has been ridiculous. During this stretch NOBODY has come from behind to win a match vs Ana. Consider all the times she has come from behind to win in dramatic fashion (Petrova,Vaidisova,Jankovic), and also falling behind early and coming back (Kirilenko, Kuznetsova, Hantuchova) ...and in all those matches the opponent was playing well.
Obviously she will eventually lose a match that she is playing well, it just hasnt happened for some time!
The 5 losses have a trend. Looking at the 5 loss scorlines they are all similar 2 set blowouts..
1-6 , 2-6 (Henin)
3-6 , 1-6 (Hantuchova)
2-6 , 2-6 (V.Williams)
3-6 , 1-6 (Yan)
4-6 , 2-6 (V.Williams)
I think its why the 5 losses are frustrating since she didn't at least challenge a little and we can see how relentless Ana is when she does challenge.
I know im stating the obvious, its just exciting to see her in this kind of form.
Win again tomorrow for #50 on the year!!

I think she was just relaxed and confident and that's why she was ripping winners.

Not a good start. :( 2-3*, she has only held serve once so far...

Now 5-0*! It seems as if Ana has gotten her head into the match now. This is the type of scoreline I was expecting.

Someone I know who was watching the match says Ana had her coach out on court after the first set, complaining about having no energy. This loss may be a blessing in disguise then....

Maybe somebody, and I am not mentioning any names here, should have dropped Stutgart, and played Moscow next week instead?

Ana!! Well, it appears that Bondarenko played well, and I assume that Ana was just out of energy or something. This is only a Tier II, so she better rest up for the Tier I in Zurich.

Ana has to learn how to play a couple (at least 2) weeks in a row successfully. This year this kind of losses might be excuted, but next year not.

Well, Ana and I seem to follow a pattern. When she wins, I usually win as well. Considering my QF is tomorrow, I hope this trend doesn't continue.

A great week in Luxembourg, a great match yesterday but today the level dropped. Some nice winners, but then also way too many easy errors.
It can't be right that she lost it cause of not enough energy.
This is only her 2nd tournament after some weeks of rest.

I guess no matter how many matches she wins. Every loss still hurts.

Hopefully she can play at 100% in Zurich.
Watching her matches is certainly not good for the nerves.

What a shame she lost to Katya, she'd probably have made the final the way things panned out :(

Zurich will be better

She so would. I'm really sick of these silly losses. Next year she can't be losing anymore these matches...

I can read what was going in between Ana's ears after Luxembourg final:

Sunday: Yay, I won!:D Tough draw in Stuttgart, damn that Schnyder, I need to be focused. AJDE! :fiery:
Wednesday: Job done! :D Boy, I played well! And this crowd was so nice! :awww: They love me here! Who do I play in the 2nd round? Bondarenko... Alona? I trashed her this year. Oh, it's Katya! :spit: I can run around my FH to hit a BH and I'll still beat her. :smoke: Let's focus on the SF! Ajde! :D
Thursday after the 1st set: Ivanović, get it together. :weirdo: You're so much better than this.
after the 2nd set: That's it! :D I won, I haven't lost after winning a set since May and I'm not losing today either. Yay! :D
after the 3rd set: :bigcry: How on Earth this happened? :o Oh well, I'll learn from it. :awww:

If she's to be #1 she has to play every match like a final. Just what Justine does.

I think you have it very close; maybe add the word "exciting" in there once a day at least, and multiple times on Sunday. Personally, I imagine her having a really cheesy pet name for her own FH that she uses in her head but thats just me..

I'd rather see her getting back there after winning a tournament not due to a sucky display of someone who was in front of her. She has to back it up in Zurich.

Be not so negative, she deserved her P4. She will do fine in Zurich.
