typical Schnyder loss. Patty is always a headcase/choker except when it comes to playing Serena Williams on clay, then she's warrior princess.

After 4-6 1-4 she showed great tennis ... she played tons of Backhand and Forehand (!) Winners :yeah:

She had a great defense, many long rallys she won with a winner

This much was simply FABULOUS! I love the way Tamira played! She tried to dictate most of the pts and she really showed some guts. *1-4 in the 2nd and 2 pts away from going down at *4-5 in the 3rd. This girl is amazing. I wish we have a QF between her & Aga. Both of them deserve it so much for having upsets of the Open! :yeah:

Such consistency in slams at such a young age. :worship: And what a great fight as well
At least not all my faves are sucking. Now I read somewhere that she was hurt? If she's healthy she can really take it to Anna.

Schnyder was up 6-4 and 4-1 before she struggled after Tami took a medical timeout
great match from both, it's a pity than one of them had to loose in a final tie break after this battle ( there should be an open thrid set as well like it is in the other slammies)

congrats tammy :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
now take chakvedatse out (of tournament)

I am starting to like the way Tamira plays more and more. She has great mental focus, that's important. I also love the way during rallies she hits most of her shots at medium pace but as soon as she spots an opening for a winner she kills the ball. She also has nice touch and can hit good off pace shots. Larri Passos is doing a great job with her.

typical Schnyder loss. Patty is always a headcase/choker except when it comes to playing Serena Williams on clay, then she's warrior princess. Patty was too excited to return to Bali for three consecutive years...She cannot wait to ride banana boat...

Yay, well done Tamira:kiss:

what amazes me is how calm and cool she can be in such pressure situation. I mean how about that comeback, and in the decider she was constantly serving to stay in the match (impressive considering her serve is not the greatest). Keep working at it tamira:D

This girl has impressed me ever since i saw her match against dementieva at wimbledon.

She's going to contend for many slams to come in the future and might even make it way further here.

I :hearts: her game, she's got a new fan in me

Patty really should have won this match at 6/1 4/1 up, but she choked bigtime, and Tamira took control. Watched the match in Grandstand Stadium (going back and forth, a few feet away, between this match and Hingis' match). Tamira remained focus and went for her shots when she saw an opening. Patty was pathetic in the 3rd set tiebreak, hitting every ball out....and Yuri's not the only jerk..Patty's husband left at 5/1 in the tiebreak, leaving Patty looking helpless. Tamira's a cool kid. Signed sooo many autographs and was a good sport inspite of a strained left thigh.

it's funny because if someone like Sharapova took a medical timeout for no reason like Pasek did and competely turned the match around i'm sure there would get so much shit on here for it.

oh well i'm just being a sore loser probably but i think it's true. Typical Patty. I don't even get disappointed anymore.

we didn't really need anymore confirmation that Rainer's a jerk. it's the one bright spot in Patty losses knowing it pisses him off.

Patty did not choke. Tamira took it to her. Patty was hitting the ball deep and hard but Tamira was too good. If not for silly mistakes on the big points, Tamira would have won this match in straight sets. She was more aggressive than Patty.

One thing that surprised me was how passive Patty was on the returns. Tamira has a shitty serve and Patty let her get away with it.
