Everyone is talking about Nicole but I think Martina Hingis has the opportunity now. Martina has the MOST experience in the bottom half of the women's draw. If Martina can hold her nerve and keep up her good play I can see her in the finals. Yes Nicole is talented and so are Svetlana and Anna but Martina Hingis has the EXPERIENCE.Martina has got to be excited about Maria Sharapova losing today because Martina has a losing record against her. Martina knows the door is open for her.

She is also going to lose 3rd round against superior firepower from Vika Azarenka.

With the way she's playing I don't see it happening.

If tomorrow she's still playing singles, it's an 80% possibilities of her being in the semis.

Hingis's form isn't that good right now. I love her to death. I fantasize about her lifting the trophy, but let's be honest: she is taking it one round at a time.

Yes this is probably the best chance Martina is going to get of reaching a Grand Slam final again. I hope she makes it, it would be nice to see her back in one after so long.

Hingis is giving up her 3rd round match because of too long waiting in locker room.

I do agree. This is her chance... But let's take it one match at a time because she hasn't really proven in her comeback that she can take these chances...

Well I can admit I was wrong. I am shocked at Martina today I don't like what's going on with her. As far as I am concerned Martina is NOT working hard enough. Martina knows her serve is crap and yet she REFUSES to work on it. She can get better but its up to her now. I mean what's the point playing if you're not winning? OR maybe Martina came back just because she missed the game but this year she's gone BACKWARDS. I don't know if Hingis can come back? Martina Hingis has indeed BEEN PASSED.

Her serve has always been crap, she didn't work on it those days, she won't work on it now.

The difference between then and now is simply the speed of the game. When she was young she played "chess" on the courts, placing the balls very accurately in her opponents' courts and lived from that.

Now the game is faster, the opponents are faster and Martina gets older and thus gets not faster. She gets killed by superior firepower more and more often.

It happens. Changing of the guards.
