Undeniable!!!

She's fucked up her career with her off court modelling and is on her way out of the top 5 then top 10. She just screwed up the biggest chance she got to win another Grand Slam, she'll never win another.

She hasn't improved a thing, the new serve doesn't work and she has shown she is no longer a top player 2 poor GS performances doesn't happen to top players.

She has made my day!!!

SugarKane...c'mon

Maria is a 2 time slam champion ,former number 1 and numerous titles. Anna could not win 1 freaking singles title! I love Anna, but you cannot compare their on court accomplishments.

seriously though she won the USopen, and then got more endorsements, and has since messed up every event she's entered bar one.

I'm not comparing their on court accomplishments, I'm comparing the demise of their careers.

They both lost their careers through greed, spending more time in the photo studios than on court tightening up their games.

Maria's career was good succesful one while it lasted, many players would have loved 2 grandslams, Maria has nothing to be ashamed of when she looks back at her career.

Some of these threads are ridiculous, I don't like Maria that much, but leave her alone. She hasn't had the best of years, but she has achieved a lot more than what Anna did in singles in just this year alone.

Maria won 2 single slams. Now I like Anna K better but Maria is no Anna. She's won more single titles (2 slams) and she's not as good looking as Anna.

However Maria may win more slams in the future. Serena, Venus and Henin will have moved on but she has to remember there are others stepping up like Ana, Jelena, Aga(wow), Nicole and a few others.

This is WTAWorld. If Justine/Serena/Venus lost to a lower ranked player it would be the same crap aswell.

Her serve at USO wasn't good but I think its early to talk about Kournikova...I mean Maria alredy won 2 GS and 16 titles and Anna never won a tournament

Almost every top player has had poor GS showings. Maria is not in good form,
i think it started with the injury and not its all mental, she does not have
that mental toughness she once had. I think the mental aspect is damaging her
game which was all about confidence which i think she is lacking now. If she
can get it back she will be fine,if not then she is going to be a 11-20 ranked
player for awhile. I have also wondering if she could be burning out early.

Sugar_Kane youre a retard. Plain and simple. R-E-T-A-R-D. Stop trying to win the TWAT competition, cause even if you win a few more rounds, you're not going all the way. So give it up and stop posting this drivel.

Radwanska played better today. I'm sure Maria will have other opportunities.

clearly you do not follow tennis. maria went above and beyond anything kournikova accomplished by winning titles and reaching the top seven. kournikova wishes she could play like maria.

I take exception to the comparison. Maria has WON TWO grand slam titles and seeveral other titles.

There is NO comparison of her with Anna Korunikova.

Kournikova's career was ruined by INJURIES.. not off court activities.

Can you name a TOP player who hasn't had a shock loss at a Grand Slam to a lower ranked player?
Henin - Garbin/Daniilidou
Venus - Schett/Karantacheva
Serena - Craybas
Graf - McNeil
the list goes on and on..

I'm no Sharapova fan but give her a break most players would love to have had her year (1 slam final, 1 SF, 1 Tier I title).

Last time I checked Brit-Brit, had released an awesome song which is taking the charts by storm, opened a night club and is preparing to open the VMA's.

That's like Maria winning the US Open and that ain't happening!!!

I am really not a fan of Sharapova, but compare her with Kournikova is really stupid. Anna Kournikova was just a cheap, naive glamour doll, caring more for her look and stories outside the tennis court than 100%for her tennis game.

Thats why she never won a tournament, it is a cheek and a slap in the face of every other, hard fighting tennis player to call Kournikova a tennis player.

Sharapova has also some other things than tennis, but when she is on the court, she is 100% in her tennis and has fighting spirit. She has won tournaments and was always 100% concentrated during a tennis match.

Its a shame that many non tennis fans when asked for famous tennis players always remember Kournikova at first. She was only made for male viewers, controlled by something in their trousers.

Kournikova was top 10, a Wimbledon semifinalist and Miami finalist. Also finalist in Charleston and Moscow.
Sharapova has one win this year, and if her serve stays this bad, her ranking will start falling.
She won't be in the top 5 too long with the serve she has now.

No. She just got beaten by better players, she never will be the best player in the world as long as the williamses and henin have something to say about it.
