She sure didn't waste her time while being out. She definitely fixed the mental part of her game. heck, she just smiled after losing a point. That's unheard of before the break.

she is much better now

I must agree she had her chances and let them slip in the first but she didn't get into one of her moods nice to see :)

She's grown up that's all. ;)

She just came back from about 4 months of wrist problems. She's probably not expecting much.
When she thinks she should win and she's not, that's when we will see how Vera reacts.

give her some credit, will you?

Look at that split! I'm amazed at how healthy she is.
She is acting mature.
Vera's going to be good indoors this fall.

she shouldn't get discouraged even if she loses. she'll be beating a lot of players this fall...

Zvonareva is mentally better and moving decent. I applaud her efforts. She's really pushing the overwhelming favorite, Serena

I really like what I see.

I think Vera has played better as the match went on. In the tb, she hit the top of the net, and was an inch wide, or we would probably go 3 sets.

very encouraging stuff.
she should stride up back to the top20 soon.
she had some great contructional points and rallies, maintaining a high level for a lengthy period of games.

i'm very pleased - evryone should remember she played much less than serena.

Good to see Vera's play and personality today -- very expressive still, but not so tortured.

She has Serena on the defense for large protions of the second set.

I disagree. Vera stopped all that negative nonsense long before her injury break.

She was so different and her game was working really well for her too .I hope she goes up a lot higher in the rankings because she has a lot of talent

I was more shocked about her level of play after such a long break than anything else. She will undoubtedly be back in the top 20 if she can stay healthy. Also, she was looking really good too.
