well hopefully now that her ranking is a little higher she can get in better shape......she seems to have decent movement so if she drops the extra lbs her movement should get a lot better.

Dinara is going to have to improve a lot to compete against Justine. She has to be much steadier.
Dinara has to win every point when she gets a short ball. Dinara was just giving points away today.

hopefully she'll get inspired enough to lose some weight and watch her diet.

It is curious that her parents would complain about the $$ they put into her tennis development and ignored the most basic elements of her training ----- nutrition and proper exercise. You have to really be eating a lot of junk food to get a gut like that when playing daily tennis :help:

well part of it is that she's clearly fighting the genetics, she probably emotionally eats....her mother looks like she can throw down with the comfort foods.

if you eat clean, drink water, avoid sugars, refined processed foods, lift weights, do drills and cardio in addition to playing tennis, you will not have a gut like that. i don't care what your genetic are.

she's young and active and a "professional" athlete. this is her job. there's no excuse.

I must of missed the post where I said those things wouldn't prevent her from having a gut?

Genetics still plays a part though because if her body stores it's fat around her stomach (which it clearly does) then she'll have to do more then others to slim down in that area.

Ahsha needs to lose some serious weight. I hate seing fat athletes.

me too.

the world track and field championships are on now and i have not seen a single overweight, out of shape looking athlete. they all look like they work hard and pay attention to diet. i'm sure they would be embarrassed to show up to the world championships looking a mess.

it's irresponsible to do that.

for me, it would be a matter of pride. there's really no excuse.

It is time for Dinara to make her move. I have been a fan of her game for a while. I think it is all mental with her. Nice win Safina, Fantastic tournmanet Asha.
