Well, that's the whole point of what we're discussing.

She'll have to play very aggressively to trouble Jelena...I don't think she'll beat JJ at her own game. That said, I don't know much at all about Cornet's game.

Well, if you were prefering in your previous post to Nadia and Elena, I know they are not all the hot, but I'm not going on the defensive about them, unlike some. :unsure:

I saw her play Monica Niculescu in the Wimbledon qualifying and it was a highly entertaining match and Cornet definately looked a very capable player. Like Alizé Molik says she is definately a counter puncher. She lets others take the intitiative for the most part but her responses are imaginative and smart. She definately knows what she is doing out there and shows a real intelligence for the game. I would say her game is a little like Chakvetadze's but obviously she is not at that level at this point in her career.

She isn't hot for me but after allt there's no accounting for tastes.

cornet's game is similar to jj's she runs a lot, hitting well, but not overwhealming power. constructing the points nicely, if the player hits well, she's on the move sometimes counter punching, but she can also be the one dictating, playing more technical than strenght wise. Her serve is okay, a bit like jj's
it's also a very french game.

Going by what folks are saying, I think the most likely scenario is something similar to what happened in the Chaky-Pratt match. Chaky, who is normally somewhat of a counter-puncher against more aggressive players, has to take the aggressive stance over Pratt who wouldn't do so...and she made a ton of errors. Of course, Chaky still did win that match.

yeah that pretty much sums it up. Cornet's game matches up very poorly with Jankovic. I think they play similar steady baseline games but Jankovic's game is fully matured while Cornet still needs a lot of development in terms of physical strength. Jankovic should chase down most of Cornet shots and dictate a lot too. She should basically just wear Cornet down.
