But it seems like they don't have good chemistry going on between them. They are about to lose.

Tough day for Maria.

I can't help but notice that Maria has played poorly for the first time since Wimbledon and this has coincided with Igor's presence at the tournament. I'm not being heartless or saying she should get rid of him, but maybe he is a bad distraction when she is playing matches.

I don't know if you're seeing a trend starting here or if it's just a coincidence. Who knows if Igor was a distraction or not? Do you think Igor begged Makiri to come to New Haven's Pilot Penn Tourney even though she had some nagging injuries??? Do you think Igor pushed Makiri to play mixed doubles at the USO so he could announce his self proclammation to the world that he's dating her??? All I know is that Makiri lost a great opportunity at the USO to possibly get further in the draw 1st time in her career at any of the Slams. I do think they make a cute couple though and if Makiri is happy being with him, I'm happy for the both of them.

Well Maria could have gone to New Haven and not played, just watched Igor instead, so i doubt that matters. I just noticed that neither of them had a good tournament at the USO. I'm don't think Igor is desperate to announce everything to the world's media, but i do think it's a bit odd that they play doubles together. Recipe for falling out, I'd say.

I think Igor wanted to spend more time with Makiri off the court than on. They did play doubles in Australia in the past with little success. I was just worried that playing mixed doubles would have an ill effect on Makiri physically and mentally. I think Makiri just did it to make Igor happy. Anyways, I dearly hope Makiri can snatch another singles title this fall season. With her vastly improved game the outlook looks bright compared to last year. Ana, Dani, Chaky, & Tati already collected there singles title this summer. Makiri must be chomping at the bit to get her 2nd title. Let's hope she and her coach Van Harpen can make it happen.
