Of course. Look at Arthur Ashe and what he accomplished in tennis. EACH Williams has done more in a single year than that. Not to knock Ashe he was a great human but the sisters also deserve their place. Even if you ignore their trailblazing ways, they are by far the best players to come out of America ever! I mean put a Williams against even the vaunted Chrissy or Helen Wills and there is no doubt about who would win.

Lenglen didn't even play in the open era genius. Of course Mandlikova is better. And Graf better than her. And Serena and Venus better than her.

Talent is just a fake word people use to comfort themselves when they've lost. Everyone thinks their fave is the most 'talented', but only one player wins a match and that player is better regardless of potential 'talent'. You can't measure talent, but you can see which players are better. I don't buy the logic that one player can be more talented but lose when it counts to a less 'talented' player. It's too convenient. Serena and Venus are plain better and maybe in the future there may be players better than them, but for now, they are the best female American players ever.

wow, this is your most :bs: post on this thread :spit:, suzanne was more talented than mandlikova and not only on words on paper too, clijsters has a negative record against craybas and she isnt more talented than her, if you see that one player is better it means she is more talented, and i think justine could say a few things about who is the better player this year and for the last 4 or 5 years (after serenas peak) :wavey:

well yes look at rod-ass..... Basically hes just unlucky. Had he been around during Sampras' era and not federers he would be a much better contender than he is now...

maybe you can have that arguement for Serena, but your precious SHarapova isnt less guilty of seeking fame etc.... than Venus....

What on paper? The ladies playing in Lenglen's era were more concerned about their ankles showing than with the sport. Clijsters has a negative record against Craybas because Craybas was the better player more times. Would Craybas peak beat Clijsters peak? Of course not. We can see that from their performances and examples of their peaks. And I'm sure Justine must be proud of beating a player with two major injuries in 3 tight sets.

It's too early for Venus and Serena to have something named after them...
Maybe once they retire...

The Grandstand should be either Sampras, Evert or Navratilova.

Since two stadiums are already named after males (Louis Armstrong and Arthur Ashe), the name of the Grandstand will likely go to a woman, and probably one of these three:

Helen Wills-Moody - 19 (Grand Slam wins)
Chris Evert - 18 (Grand Slam wins)
Martina Navratilova - 18 (Grand Slam wins)
