Lilia Osterloh didnt make it through qualies but that isnt to say she wouldnt get through a couple rounds at a GS. AGL probley wouldnt have got through qualies. it proves some lucky losers gets through a round or two.

It's true. There were some tough former Top50 players in the qualifying draw who have either lost form or are coming back off long injury lay offs, as well as young and upcoming juniors.

Its is tough.

It always depends what draw you get and if the player suits you, qualies are defintely not tougher than the md, but as always there are some players that are top 250, but can play top 100 game (because they're rising, because they have a good day and play the right player or because they have the game but don't have the head).
GreatMate unless you play in these tournies you seriously wouldn't know...

Yea,plus the emotional pressure....I mean im sure Lillia was super stoaked to have to play qualies,AGAIN,after her great summer. And alot of those matches came down to how bad you want it.In the first couple of main draw matches many of those girls care less and tank matches or go away after a few tough games/set

I have a feeling poor Lilia would have done better in the MD.

I.E. I think she would have taken out Likhovtseva.
