USO R1: (29) Sam Stosur vs (Q) Alize Cornet WWW???

Tough match for Sam who is recently coming back from injury :o I think if sam plays consistent she will win so I say Sam in 2! I really hope she can win!

Alize Cornet or not, she’s just come through qualifying rounds of US Open so must be playing well. If Sam can find some way to replicate her ranking during this match she should come away with a win.

I guess Stosur 7-5 6-3.

I really hope Alize can take this match, and then afterwards beat wozniacki too and go really far.. :)

I'd like Stosur to win but I don't see that happening. I'd love to be proven wrong though!

This is, I believe, Stosur's match to win or loose and I think the serve is going to play a big part as it always does with her, if she can serve well and put pressure on Alizé to do the same she could win pretty comfortably but if she gets into long rallies and can't close out points I can't see her being able to out last Alizé especially because she's coming back from illness and hasn't played any matches where as Alizé is feeling pretty confident.

Stosur isn't the type of player who can just switch back into form after a long lay off. I think Cornet will win quite comfortably. Wouldn't mind being wrong though.
