Hello everyone, I went to the Pilot Pen on Thursday and Friday, for now here is Thursday Report, it includes both men's and women's matches. Pics to follow.

We arrived Thursday, not really knowing what to expect and after wandering around for a little bit, I decided to see the doubles match between Kirlienko and Azarenka against Stubbs and Peschke. The much younger duo of Kirilenko and Azarenka won the first set 6-3 using their superior ground strokes. However Peschke and Stubbs fought back and their better doubles strategy and volleying helpt them capture the win 3-6, 7-5, 10-2. At 1-2 in the TB Azarenka and Kirilenko got an absolutely terrible call and fell apart after that.

I stopped by to see Karlovic vs. Johannson from about 4-3 in the third set, it was boring with a lot of service winners or errors, Karlovin won 7-5 in the third which prompted Thomas to obliterate his raquet.

Following that I went to see Nieminen-Verdasco, Verdasco was actually playing with controlled agression and I think Nieminen held serve one time in the first set that Verdasco won 6-3, Nieminen was winning 3-0 in the second when I ended up leaving. I was surpised Jarkko won the second set, but I'm sure it was all errors by Verdasco.

I left because I saw the score of Szavay vs. Bondarenko flash, so I scooted over there to see that Agnes Szavay was absolutely crushing the ball and striking the ball so well. Bondarenko was helpless and lost 6-1, 6-4.

Next I saw the entire match of Davydenko vs. Simon, Davydenko his a rediculous amount of unforced errors that really cost him. He kept complaining about the tension of his strings, but could never get in a groove. Simon did nothing impressive and I'm not surprised he lost in the next round.

I quickly stopped by the Stadium, thinking it was going to be a blowout I left with Bartoli leading Dementieva 4-0, plus our seats weren't great.

Next I went to see Kuznetsova vs. Schiavone, Kuznetsova was absolutely crushing the ball, and Schiavone really doesn't weapons except her speed. Schiavone retired after the first set with something wrong with her leg I think.

I then went to see Bhupathi and Zimonjic vs. Montanes and Ferrer. I was really surprised how well Montanes and Ferrer played, I was actually surprised by Montanes he was hitting the best shots out of all four of them. Ultimately the #1 team of Bhupathi and Zimonjic won in two tie-break sets.

Finally, the last match I saw on Thursday was Blake vs. Verdasco. James was simply on fire and couldn't do anything wrong. Verdasco would come up with some crazy-good shots at times, but it was Blake in control from the onset, it was a very very impressive performance by him.

And that's all for Thursday, pictures to follow.

We were far away, as you can tell by the pciture, but she kept holding her hands up to her face, and it looked like she was crying, but I can't confirm anything for certain, but as I said I wouldf assume she was.
