Just like last year, I expect a series a withdrawals due to injury/illness/exhaustion/whatever.

So what's 17 of the top 20 in WTA injury math? 5?

Jelena isn't playing

Believe it or not, she's scheduling the fall lightly. There's still time for her to go insane again and late-entering though.

She is playing Bali & Bangkok as far as I know...I know she's not playing Beijing and taking 3 weeks off between those 2 Tier III's (she's evidently required to play 5 Tier III's this year). I assume she'll play Zurich and/or Linz. If she plays Quebec City I'll beat her with a wet noodle.

As if Serena will play, the only tournaments she'll play for the rest of the year are USO and MAYBE YEC (if she even qualifies)

Well she's been injured a LOT lately, but if she can stay healthy, I don't see why Ree wouldn't play Beijing, here and Linz, before the YEC (which she DEFINITELY will qualify for :o )

Yes, I saw her match against Pierce last year live. High quality tennis

If she plays Quebec City I'll beat her with a wet noodle.

If I'm allowed, I will help you with that. :)

She did. She started with Beijing and played most weeks until the end of the season...surprise surprise.

why wouldn't she play....her only injury has now healed and she's now fit...no one predicts the future so she can't say she'll get an injury so she just won't enter....think before you type :)

Well Momo has started practicing again. :woohoo:

Reprise de la raquette. :

24/08/2007

I'm hopeful that she will play here.

I think Momo likes playing in Stuttgart. Maybe she will have her comeback there.

2 VERY strong players and a very big draw not playing. As much as it's a good, balanced field, I can't imagine Bammer and Golovin drawing a crowd like Justine can.

I thought Justine would play here, but I'm glad she isn't actually. Beijing, Zurich and YEC should be fine. :)

Because she's never played more than 2 tournaments inbetween the US Open and the YEC?
